I woke up in the morning in a soft bed. I am happy and excited for my day with Austin. I open my eyes and immediately realize my situation. The bedroom I'm in has a soft queen bed, one big window, and a small bathroom. I run to the window and see that we are two stories up. I hear footsteps coming to my door and Harry walks in.
"Avery..You're awake." Harry sees me.
"You need to rest." He walks forward to assist me but I flinch.
"Don't touch me!" I pull out my pocket knife from my shorts and hold it up to him.
Harry smirks at my weak attempt to fight him, "I'm not here to hurt you, love. I'm just here to check over you." He gestures toward my scraped leg.
"Get away from me!" I scream loudly and it is followed by other footsteps at the door.
The other boys came in alertly and blocked the doorway so I couldn't escape. I panic and slowly back away from them until my back is pressed against the wall.
"Oi mates, it'll be better to let her cool off. C'mon let's go." Harry leads the boys out of the room and I am left alone.
I immediately ran to the door and locked it, but I was unable to. I sit on the bed and panic and cry. Why would my brother not even try to help me? He just laid there while I was being dragged away. Hopelessness and betrayal flood my heart. I cry into my hands. I straighten up and make a plan to get out of this place.I recall all the safety courses taught at school and all the cringe fanfics I read as a pre-teen. I take a deep breath and stand up. I grab a chair and push it under the door knob, a desperate attempt to keep the men out. Wait...where's my bag? My panic worsens due to the fact that I have no ability to call the police. I panic and turn the bedroom into a mess trying to find something to assist me. I run to the window and use all my strength to open it, but it won't budge. I grab a lamp near the bed and use all my force to hurl it at the window. The window shatters and I silently thank Coach Manjarres for teaching me to throw forcefully. I stick my head outside and realize I am three stories high. The dark cold night prevents me from seeing where I am located. Suddenly, Harry and the boys barge in.
"Woah Woah! Avery! Stand back from the window. There's no surviving the jump." Harry cautiously says.
"I will not stay in this small room like an animal waiting for its slaughter!"
I look toward the window while holding my pocket-knife towards the boys. I get ready to jump but Harry immediately disarms me and pins me to the floor.
"Avery! You need to calm down! You would have died!"
"And why do you care?! You bastards are going to kill me either way!" I sob.
Harry's eyes soften when he hears me cry out. He sees my shaking hands and how I'm too weak to fight back, unlike earlier. Harry moves my hair out of my face and cautiously helps me up, before gently picking me up and walking out of the room. He walks gingerly through a hallway and into another bedroom.
"No, please no." I whisper weakly not wanting to be trapped into another room.
"Shh, it's ok, love." Harry whispers back as he sets me down on a soft bed.
Harry leaves the room and comes back with a tray of food. He sets it down near me.
I'm too tired to eat so I lay my head down and everything goes black.
