I waste no time and immediately run to a big door and slam it open. I see a forest and fields surrendering the building. These dudes are freaks, taking me into the middle of nowhere and holding me hostage. I take off running into the forest, despite my wounds, lack of food, and cold air. I run for about 5 minutes until I hear yelling from the house. The boys chase after me but I keep running as hard as I can go.I refuse to be killed off so early in my life. It's been over 12 minutes and I suddenly lose my footing and roll down a hill. I finally hit the forest floor and screamed out in pain. My hands are bloody and cut up. Blood drips from a cut on my face. A big gash on my right leg has blood flowing out of it. My ankle is throbbing and on fire. I sob and cry out in pain as I try to move and continue my escape. Fear washes over me as I realize that there's no way I can escape as I hear the boy's voice nearing me. The voices are loud and sound angry. Dread washes over me as Harry sees me and runs to me.
"No! I'm innocent! Please, No! Please!" I scream and beg. "I don't know anything about that Cowell guy. Me and my brother are innocent. Just let me go, I won't tell the police!"
"Avery! Calm down! We are not going to hurt you or kill you, only protect you."
"Get away! I will not be an animal to the slaughter!" I don't believe them.
The boys are taken back at my comment.
"I read your papers. I'm just a bounty award to you!" I cry out. "You're not here to protect me! You're only going to kill me or send me to him."
The boys surround my bleeding and worn out body while Harry reaches toward me. I scream and continue to futilely beg them for mercy.
"Avery, calm down! You're bleeding and injured. If we wanted to hurt you, we would have earlier." Liam exclaims.
"Please, we have no alliance with Cowell."
"Please let us help you." Harry begs.
Harry crouches next to me and gently picks me up and holds me against his chest. I can't even squirm in his arms or try to escape. I am too weak to do anything but sob weakly against his chest as takes me back to the mansion.
"Shh, it's okay, love. I won't hurt you." Harry gently reassures me and I feel a sense of warmth and protection. Harry holds me close due to the cold night air but walks quickly due to the fact that my injuries need treatment soon. He walks into the kitchen and sits me on the counter near the sink, while Liam grabs a med kit. Harry stops the bleeding on the cut on my leg and then grabs some cleaner.
"Deep breath, love. This may sting." Harry says before pouring it on the cut. I cry out in pain and Harry looks into my eyes. "It's okay, love, it's just momentary." He whispers gently.
Harry then kneels in front of me and comes eye level with my dangling feet. He gently holds my right foot and slowly and carefully removes my sock and shoe. I gasp in pain and the boys wince when they see my bloody and swollen ankle.
"Bloody hell." Harry mutters under his breath. He moves my ankle to test if it's broken or just sprained.
"Just sprained" I breath out in pain. Harry then takes some bandages and wraps my ankle. I grab his shoulder sharply and grimace. I'd expect Harry to tell me to stop but he knows I need something to stabilize myself with.
Once Harry is done with wrapping my ankle, he looks me in the eyes and then studies my face. He then rises up quickly and brings his arm near my face. I flinch and close my eyes, but I only feel a wet soft cloth wiping away the dirt on my cheek. I open my eyes and see green orbs looking back at me. I sniffle and look down at my hands.
"So you guys won't hurt me?" I ask quietly.
"Not unless you drink Louis's tea!" Naill snickered, but Liam quickly elbows him.
"Don't mind him, he's just joking." Liam reassures.
"Where's my brother?" They boys look down at the ground when I ask that question. Harry is the only one to answer.
"Your brother may not be....who you think he is." Harry says cautiously. I cock my head in confusion. "Avery, you need food and rest. Everything will make sense tomorrow." Harry motions to Niall to start preparing food for me.
"Why the bloody hell would you ask Niall to cook?!" Louis exclaims.
"Oi, you arse! I'm a good cook! Right, Harry?" Niall groans when Harry ignores.
"Oh yes! Your cooking is so good that we throw up every time!" Louis retorts.
While the boys bicker, Zayn brings me a plate of eggs and toast. I hesitate to take a bite, but then I make eye contact with Harry and he nods. I eat the food quickly and silently thank them for the food. I gaze around the kitchen with sleepy eyes.
"C'mon, love. It's best if you rest." Harry holds out his hand for me to take it. I grab it while Harry's other hand wraps around my waist to assist me in getting down from the counter-top. Harry leads me up the stairs and into the bedroom. He sits me on the bed and walks out. He comes back with a soft black tee and loose lounge shorts, as well as boxers.
"It'll be loose on you, but comfortable. Lay down now." Harry pulls the blankets over me and I'm too exhausted to stay awake. He gazes down on me and gently brushes a strand of hair out of my face. Harry turns and walks out of the room, but looks back and sighs in relief. He leaves the door slightly open and silently walks away. The other boys are still awake after an hour, discussing the situation. None of them has seen Harry, so they go up the stairs. They approach the hallway my bedroom is on and stop in their steps once they see him. There he is, on the floor next to my door, keeping guard of me.
