Just to be with her again

A man in a black cloak walks
To see a new world
With his head down, and a frown
In his disdain, he shares no pain
It is almost time the man thinks
Grabbing his golden pocket watch
With a black and white picture of her inside
He reads five till midnight
Snapping closed the watch
The man wonders,
What is this uplifting feeling
Knowing his next step is grim
Preparing now, approaching the spot
Not one to change plans
He takes his final steps
Feeling the cool fall breeze
Flow through his untrimmed dark hair
Noting some things he will miss
He jumps, the floating euphoria overwhelms him
Now is no time for regret
His mind set free, no longer shackled
He smacks into the pavement
Just to be with her again
