Chapter 2: The Good-for-nothing Young Miss

Vesper Lockhart’s granddaughter, Eclipse Lockhart- notoriously known as the weak and good-for-nothing Young Lady of Lockhart’s Palace, who is shamelessly following the Second Prince of the kingdom. Though she has a beauty that can bring down cities and countries, her bearing overshadows it.

‘Still alive?’ she thought after regaining consciousness and the feeling of the ground.

[Though only hanging by a thread] a soft voice in her head commented

Eclipse gasped at that tiny voice. 

“Who are you?”

[Your spirit] the voice replied.

‘Spirit….?’

Eclipse remained silent as she absorbed the information about what the tiny voice told her.

Spirit is another entity that lives within a human body. Only become visible and show itself after attending a certain age of 14. Also known as Spirit Awakening.

Though the owner of the body where her soul resides didn’t awaken her spirit at the age of 14. She wasn’t getting bullied physically due to the big name backing her up.

Though ridicule and unkind gazes from others are not exempted. The real owner of the body, Eclipse, was timid and fragile, she’s a good-for-nothing, idiot young Miss of Lockhart’s Palace. Her soft heart crashes all her self-confidence like a glass that breaks into tiny pieces every time she faces the crowds. Gradually, she became used to it, and it doesn’t bother her anymore. But it becomes different when it talks about her beloved Second Prince of the Fire Kingdom. She just loves him too much, to the point she can’t accept the fact of him marrying her rival, Alicia Simon – the third daughter of Simon’s Palace.

The Lockhart Clan is one of the Four Ducal families in the Fire Kingdom. Alongside were the Lin Clan, Simon Clan and Hebei Clan.

And on the night of the hunting festival, Eclipse retorted to doing an underhanded scheme just to get what she wanted. Unfortunately, before it happens, Eclipse falls into the trap of others.

She was assassinated.

And ‘she’ died… But she’s also alive.

Eclipse heaved a deep sigh before dragging her sorry state body to find shelter for a time being.

Tough it may be called, but the injuries she suffered were way as severe as a weak body could take. Hence, she succumbed to oblivion of unconsciousness.

Without her knowing, she enters into a mysterious place with her blood as the key to activate the array.

In a distance

“Young Miss!”

“Young Miss!”

"Where are you? Young Miss!" 

A series of voices called for a single woman who was lost in the woods.

“Have you found her?” A man wearing a warrior’s uniform with a stoic face asked. On his chest was an imprint of an insignia of Lockhart Palace.

In front of him was a warrior kneeling down on one leg.

"I’m sorry for my incompetence, General. We haven’t found her yet."

“Search everywhere. Don’t return until you’ve found her”, the General ordered once again. 

“Yes, General!” the warrior, after receiving the order, walked in search of the missing young Miss

“Young Miss, please be safe” the General said while gazing at the unknown horizon.

They may feel humiliated because of their young Miss' behavior, but they can’t accept any ill intentions towards Lockhart Palace and that includes their young Miss.

And what happened today was obviously an attempted assassination.

Currently, Lockhart Palace faces impending issues.

After the late Emperor died 3 years ago, the current Emperor of the Kingdom sets its eyes on the past ally of the late Emperor. Particularly, in the Lockhart clan. As its military power and name grew far and wide, the current Emperor was afraid of it, even though the Lockhart clan didn't have the heart and mind to commit treason against the Emperor.

And probably, one of these days, the current monarchy will start to move their pawns.

Now that the old General Vesper's health is declining, and also General Morri's health is in peril due to the recent long battle with the barbarian invaders. The only hope left for the Lockhart clan to continue its lineage was the young Master Yael and the young Miss Eclipse.

But unfortunately, the young Miss was so in-love with the second Prince. Hence, she has become a laughingstock of the entire Kingdom and is known for being a foolish and a good-for-nothing person.

In regard to this, reconsider the thought of the whole clan on the young Miss and only placed their hopes on the young Master Yael. Though they still hope that the young Miss will have a change of heart one day.

The General sighed in his heart and hoped for a better future.
