Me and Nick where driving down to Boston to see my family for Christmas, Nick had just proposed to me so I was really excited to tell my family that I was gonna marry my childhood crush!
I stared out the window to see all the pretty lights fade as I fell asleep. I woke up and hour later and looked at Nick who was trying his best to stay awake.
You: baby do you want me to take over?
Nick: no it's okay I can hang on a little longer.
Nick said focusing on the road.
You: please Nick. What if you fall asleep and we crash?
Nick gave in and pulled up at the side of the road. He jumped into the back seat and nodded off to sleep. After 2 hours of me driving I nodded off to sleep until I opened my eyes to see two huge bright lights come up to me....... and CRASH!
I woke up to hear sirens and glass everywhere.
I got out of the rubble as paramedics helped me into the ambulance.
I blacked out and woke up in a private room in the hospital.
A nurse walked in to check my blood pressure.
Nurse: you didn't loose much blood so you'll be fine to leave in a while.
She said with a smile.
Nurse: do you need anything y/n?
You: yes! Please tell me what happened, why am I here?
The nurse walked closer to my bed and sat down on a nearby chair.
Nurse: you were on the freeway and fell asleep and a truck crashed into the side of the car
You: was I alone ?
Nurse: you really don't remember anything?
You: no.....
Nurse: you were with your boyfriend Nick.....
I suddenly remembered that I had taken over so Nick could sleep.
You: where's Nick..... Is he okay??
I sat up and looked at the nurse who looked kinda guilty.
Nurse: the truck hit the side his was laying and he lost a lot of blood.....
You: I need to see him!
The nurse nodded and led me to the door and walked off . I opened the door to see nicks head wrapped in bandages and an oxygen mask on him.i ran over to the side of his bed and cried.....
You: Nick I'm so sorry this was all my fault..... I fell asleep and now look at you....
Nick was unconscious so he didn't reply.... Then the nurse walked in.
You: what time is it?
Nurse: it's 04:50am
I looked down at Nick.......
Nurse : you can go back home and you can come back in a while..... You need sleep!
You: I'll sleep in this chair...
Nurse: you can't y/n.
You: I don't care I'm not leaving Nick.
The nurse rolled her eyes and agreed...... I slept for an hour or two in the chair when I was awoken by the nurse.
I looked at nicks bed to see he was gone,
You: where's Nick?..... Is he walking around? I she okay?
I said as I got up looking confused.
Nurse: I'm afraid........ Nick passed.
I never thought I would hear that until me and Nick were about 90! I just fell to the floor crying........ Nick was gone all because off me!
Nurse: I'm so sorry for your loss.
She said as she left the room.
I looked down at my hand to see my beautiful engagement ring Nick had given me 2 days ago...... I loved Nick and know he's gone!
I stayed in that hospital room for about 2 hours just crying my eyes out until the nurse said I had to go home.....
I walked out of the hospital and to the bus stop.
I was the one that should of died..... I caused this.
I was just about to get on the bus when I saw the nurse running out to with my bag.
Nurse: y/n.....y/n
Suddenly everything went black.
Nick: y/n......y/n wake up where in Boston !
I opened my eyes to see Nick tugging on my arm
Nick: are you okay?
You: it was a dream??
Nick looked at me confused.
Nick: where at your parents house!
I leaned in and gave Nick the tightest hug ever!....... He was okay...... It was a dream.
Nick: are you feeling okay baby?
You: yeah ........I love you so much Nick....
Nick: I love you more y/n
We both had an amazing Christmas and we got married that August!
