The college stadium buzzed with excitement as the final basketball match unfolded before a packed audience. The players moved swiftly, their competitive spirits igniting the crowd. Jung-Kook, as always, was the star of the show, leading his team with determination and precision. His tall, athletic frame was a blur of motion as he made one impressive shot after another, his broad shoulders tensing with every jump and dribble. The audience cheered loudly with each point he scored, their enthusiasm matching his energy.
On the sidelines, Ji-Min and Tae-Hyung stood in the crowd, their faces lit up with smiles. Ji-Min, with his bright eyes and charming grin, looked very proud of his older brother and Jung-Kook. Next to him stood Tae-Hyung, his tall, slender figure almost hidden behind the crowd, but his gaze was fixed on Jung-Kook. His delicate features, the soft curve of his lips, and the intense look in his dark eyes spoke of his admiration for the player on the court. He could hardly tear his gaze away from Jung-Kook, even though he tried to appear nonchalant.
"See, Jae-Sun, you're lost, brother. My team is leading by seven points!" Jung-Kook called out, his voice loud and teasing as he dribbled the ball and made another flawless shot.
Jae-Sun sighed deeply, his frustration evident. He had made the mistake of challenging Jung-Kook, and now his team was hopelessly behind. Jae-Sun, with his messy brown hair and determined, yet weary expression, felt the weight of the loss sinking in. He had thought his team stood a chance, but Jung-Kook’s skills were unmatched. Turning, Jae-Sun walked off to his team, his shoulders slumped, and his mind weighed with regret.
“Don’t be sad, babe. Let’s try our best till the last minute,” Seok-Jin, Jae-Sun's supportive boyfriend, said, his voice soft and encouraging. Seok-Jin’s kind features and gentle demeanor always had a calming effect on Jae-Sun.
Jae-Sun turned to Seok-Jin, offering a small, grateful smile as he nodded. “Yeah, let’s try our best,” he said, his confidence slowly returning. His hand found Seok-Jin’s, and without hesitation, he leaned in to peck his boyfriend’s lips.
Back to the game was entering its second round, and Jung-Kook’s team continued to dominate. He made another swift move, taking the ball and shooting with ease. The crowd erupted in cheers as the ball swished through the net. With that final point, Jung-Kook’s team was declared the winner.
“We won, Kook,” Yoon-Gi said, a proud smile on his face. Jung-Kook beamed at Yoon-Gi, wiping the sweat from his neck with a towel.
“Yeah, our team played well,” Jung-Kook replied, his eyes gleaming with pride. His hair, dark and slightly messy from the exertion, was just as wild as his energy. He looked every bit the star he was, his smile wide and genuine as he wiped his brow.
As they spoke, Ji-Min and Tae-Hyung made their way over to them, cutting through the crowd with ease. Ji-Min’s gaze flicked to his brother, who was sulking because he came here despite the elder clearly telling him to not come here, but he paid him no mind. Instead, he smiled brightly at Jung-Kook, his eyes full of warmth.
"Congratulations, Jung-Kook hyung," Ji-Min said, his voice cheerful as he leaned toward the victorious player, completely ignoring his older brother, who shot him a glare.
“Didn’t I tell you to study and not come here?” Yoon-Gi asked, his tone strict but with a hint of reprimand. Ji-Min shot him a glare in return.
"I'm studying enough and stop talking like our mom." Ji-Min replied causing Yoon-Gi to glare at him. He didn’t take Yoon-Gi’s words seriously, though he could tell his brother wasn’t too pleased with him skipping out on his studies to watch the game. Jung-Kook chuckled, enjoying the bickering between the brothers.
Tae-Hyung, standing just a little behind Ji-Min, couldn’t help but smile as he watched Jung-Kook interact with the others. His heart raced as he stared at the boy he admired from afar. Jung-Kook’s laughter, his confident demeanor—it was everything Tae-Hyung found captivating. He couldn’t deny that his feelings for Jung-Kook had only grown stronger over time.
“Congratulations, Jung-Kook hyung and Yoon-Gi hyung,” Tae-Hyung said shyly, his voice soft as he looked at the two older boys. His cheeks flushed slightly as he looked at Jung-Kook, and his words came out a little more quietly than intended.
“Thank you, TaeTae,” Yoon-Gi responded warmly, his smile wide. His nickname for Tae-Hyung seemed to bring a little more confidence to the younger boy, who shyly returned the smile.
“You’re a sweet boy, unlike my brother, who didn’t even congratulate me,” Yoon-Gi added, giving Ji-Min a playful, yet pointed look. Ji-Min stuck his tongue out at him in response, his eyes gleaming with mischief.
“Thank you Tae-Hyung. Yoon-Gi, come on, let’s go have a party,” Jung-Kook suggested with a grin, his tone lighthearted. “Bring them both with us.”
Yoon-Gi shook his head. “Let Ji-Min go home. He’s miserably failing in English,” he said, glancing over at his brother with a disapproving look. “And aren’t you, Tae-Hyung, weak in statistics?”
Ji-Min frowned, his earlier cheerfulness faltering at Yoon-Gi’s words. “Please, let us come with you both. I and Tae will study hard,” he said, his voice pleading. “Plus, I know you don’t want us to touch alcohol. We wouldn’t touch anything, just let us come with you.”
Tae-Hyung stood silently beside Ji-Min, his hands nervously clasped together. He quietly hoped Yoon-Gi would relent, wanting nothing more than to spend more time with Jung-Kook. His heart raced just thinking about it.
Jung-Kook turned to Yoon-Gi with a requesting expression. “Come on, Yoon-Gi, let them come with us. About Ji-Min failing his exam... I’ll tutor him. And Eun-Woo can tutor Tae-Hyung,” he said, flashing a grin.
Ji-Min and Tae-Hyung exchanged excited glances. “See, our problem is solved. Now, let us come with you,” Ji-Min said eagerly.
“Please hyung,” Tae-Hyung added, his voice soft but full of hope. His eyes locked with Yoon-Gi’s, silently pleading.
Yoon-Gi sighed in defeat, shaking his head. “Fine,” he said, though there was no mistaking the hint of amusement in his voice. “But no alcohol for you two, okay?”
The other three broke into bright smiles at the agreement, their faces lit with happiness. Tae-Hyung’s heart soared as he looked at Jung-Kook, grateful that he would get to spend more time with him, even if it was just in the company of friends.
