The demon smirked. "I am not into women with fangs."
The vampire woman from the future smiled widely. "Good! I am adorable one, you might fall in love..." she said humorously.
The demon looked away, gazed at the sky, and huffed. "Aren't you a confident one?"
"Well, in my time I am loved and favored by the goddess but never my family. Kaya ganoon na lang ang galit sa akin ng mga kapatid ko. Bakit ako? Bakit ako na anak sa labas?"
"You're a bastard. You're just like him."
Marahas na lumingon ang babaeng bampira sa kanya. "What?"
The demon coughed his blood again. The vampire woman's eyes narrowed. "Y-You said that it was your brother who..." hindi na naituloy pa ng bampira ang sasabihin niya at tinakpan niya na ang mga labi niya.
"H-He... tried to kill you. Oh, no! I will never do that to my siblings! Kahit mainit ang dugo nila sa akin ay hindi ko sila kikitilin! Hindi lahat ay katulad ng kapatid mo!"
Even with the pain and too much blood, the demon could still smirk or even roll his eyes in annoyance. "This is a duel. I lost. Do not compare the dignity of the demons to the vampires who are used to betray even their own kin."
Suminghap na ang babaeng bampira at napatutulala na sa mga naririnig sa demonyo. "How could you consistently insult me while you're dying?!"
"I am not dying. I just need enough rest. Go. You're noisy." The demon weakly waved his hand in dismissal.
The vampire woman looked scandalously offended as if the demon was just trying to brush off a fly.
"H-How dare you! I am a Princess! You don't wave like that at me!"
"Nabibingi na ako. Is this what the female nobles from the future act like? No one would marry you, even the poorest commoner."
Behind the constant insult, the demon prince had been watching the vampire woman's every reaction, unaware of his identity— the only prince of the demon world sought and feared with his power, not for his half-brother and that sword that he hadn't given up yet.
Most of the women in this time cower in his presence but this vampire woman had no fear.
"Go. You're bothering me, vampire."
Tila hindi na kinaya pa ng prinsesa ang mga binibitawan niyang salita, dahil marahas na itong sumampa sa katawan niya at ang malambot at maliit nitong kamay ay pumalibot sa leeg niya. "I will just kill you!"
Even with his wound and the overwhelming smell of his own blood, with the image of the fearless woman, for the first time, the demon prince heard his own genuine laughter.
