Rhajat's POV

*Ring....Ring....Ring*

I hear my phone's alarm go off. I sigh because it's way too early for my liking. But alas, I must go to university today. Regrettably, one of my classes happens to be in the early morning. I reach toward the right where the bedside drawer happens to be and manage to grab my phone. I then silence it.

From there, my morning routine starts. I get up to brush my teeth for a good 8 minutes. Afterward, I let my hair down to brush it for about 10 minutes. Lastly, I saunter to the fridge to see if there's something I can eat.

All I can see are leftovers from when my father was here two nights ago. I decided to at least give the last of the pasta a chance. I serve it and then heat it up for 1 minute, and it's ready. I set the plate down and take a bite of this warm pasta.

Unfortunately, I can't taste this pasta that my father most likely poured his heart into making. I used to be able to savor my mother's and father's cooking.

However, the day after my 14th birthday, my fate would be decided for me. For some cruel reason, the universe decided to take the one thing I happened to enjoy. The ability to taste a home cooked meal from a loved one.

I was undeniably a fork, and the only people who know are my parents. My wonderful parents, that I honestly don't know where I'd be without. The same parents that figured out that regular nasal spray and face masks actually helped block the overwhelming scent of cakes.

And thus started the birth of my "mysterious illness". A lie to protect their precious fork daughter. Word spread of my supposed "illness". Fellow peers would gossip and spread rumors that my illness was contagious.

Shunned by the few friends I trusted, I turned my attention elsewhere. To the media, of course. I viewed movies, books, tv series, and lastly, my favorite fanfiction.

The home of where official licensed media characters would thrive without corporate overlords destroying their characterization or star potential.

Did I mention that I may be too invested in fanfic? Don't blame me for seeing invested fans serving me, more than official media ever could sometimes.

I also enjoy writing fanfic because it's an emotionally fulfilling hobby. And I enjoy taking photos as well. Anyways, enough of my hobbies now, let me continue my deep backstory.

My father knew I couldn't taste his cooking, but he still cooked for me so he could at least help alleviate my appetite. And to his credit, he has, but regular food would never satiate my taste buds. Fortunately, I have grown accustomed to ingesting plain food. So there's that, I guess.

However, the only thing I could drink for some reason was black coffee. I can't savor the damn coffee, but I can sense the result after consuming it. Most forks can't even sense the outcome of the food or drinks they consume. And because of that, they decide to prey on cakes.

"Enough monologuing, Rhajat." I say to myself awkwardly.

"What time is it? It's 8:20." I say calmly.

"I have 20 minutes to make it to my first class, huh?" I say half-heartedly.

I change into my evening clothes and put my small leather boots on. Lastly, I grabbed my phone and shut the door behind me. I check the GPS service on my phone to see if the coffee shop is open. Luckily, it was.

As I arrive there, I'm met with a for lease sign.

"Wait what!?" I say with a frustrated tone.

"I was just here 3 days ago. How can that be!?!? Ugh, stupid phone, how can you betray me like this!?" I say with an irritated tone.

I check my phone once again and only have about 12 minutes left!?!

I hurriedly checked my GPS service, and there seemed to be a nearby coffee shop 10 mins on foot. I decided to book it.

*pants followed by heavy breathing*

I made it to my destination in 6 minutes.

"I'm finally here." I say to myself tiredly. While leaning on the door for a few seconds.

Subsequently, I push the door, and my nose is taken aback by the scent of a deliciously sweet aroma. Wait a minute? I shouldn't be able to smell right now. Didn't I use my nasal spray? And my face mask?

Suddenly I realized my mistake.

"Good morning, and welcome to Clover's Coffee!" the barista said cheerfully.

I turn my head ever so slightly and see the owner of a rich, deep feminine voice. A blonde haired woman with short hair and dark purple eyes.

There I stood inside the cafe.
Transformed into a mannequin. My heart pounded like the sound of a drum. Shortly after, my cheeks radiated heat.
