9 | Bumble Puss

Rosalie wanted to keep their destination a surprise as long as possible. So, being the sweet girlfriend she was, she agreed to ride in a carrier for the first flight and phase for the second when Willow was allowed to know where they were headed.
She hadn't complained. Willow enjoyed sleeping in her girlfriend's adorable bubble backpack last flight. However, she hadn't anticipated such a process at TSA this time. It's not like she had drugs stuffed in her ass. She was wearing a kitty sweater, for crying out loud!
"Oh, she's so cute." The woman, Ariana, leaned down and scratched at Willow's head as Rosalie held her for examination. "Does she like planes?"
"She's surprisingly well mannered." Rosalie smiled, petting Willow down the back as her girlfriend leaned away from the woman with a kitten scowl.
"Alright, honey. Let me just test you for any gun powder residue." Ariana took a cotton ball and ran it up and down Willow's paws. "And if you can hand her to our friend Brian here, he'll hold her while I test your hands."
"Okay." Rosalie handed Willow over to Brian and stepped aside so the woman could swab her hands at the other machine. She glanced at the cat and pursed her lips when the man held her up under the arms. "I would be careful. She's a little moody after long car rides."
"Oh, she looks fine." Brian dismissed Rosalie's worries and puckered his lips. "Aren't you fine, pussy puss?"
Willow's tail flicked in annoyance. She hissed, but the man ignored her and hugged her to his chest.
"Oh, I just love cats!" Brian gushed and turned her side to side. "And her little bee sweater harness is so cute!"
Damn you, Alice. She had to have seen this shit.
A loud beep rang over them at the machine and Ariana clapped her hands.
"You're all set!" She cheered.
Rosalie didn't waste a moment to grab Willow and hug her to her chest. She gave them both a tight smile and slipped off toward the end of the belt, grabbing their bags.
"Good girl." Rosalie whispered.
She kissed Willow's head and plopped down on the bench. Her shoes slipped on with ease before she placed Willow back in her bubble backpack and gently positioned her over her shoulders.
"Almost there." She announced, pulling their two suitcases behind her as she searched for their gate.
Willow circled around in the bag and watched as they passed each gate. She felt impatient. She was grateful for Rosalie's planning abilities, but she didn't like surprises when it came to flying across the entire world somewhere unknown. Last time she left the United States, she was almost eaten by Italians.
ITALIANS! Oh, I'm so funny.
Willow sighed and turned around thrice more before settling on the bottom of the carrier. She closed her eyes and focused on the sound of Rosalie's shoes against the tile, and her random quiet updates, before her mate finally stopped.
"We're checking in for first class. Rosalie Hale and pet."
Willow grumbled in her carrier.
"We—" The woman's eyes widened in realization as Rosalie took off her backpack and placed it on the counter. "Ah! Yes. We have your pet's ticket on file. What's her name?"
Rosalie paused and glanced at Willow.
"Darling." Rosalie answered with a small smile. "I was wondering if she'd have to stay in her carrier the whole time, or if I could hold her after take off."
"We have a small flight with no other animals." The woman waved off Rosalie's worries. "I'll check with the pilot, but I don't see an issue if you'd like to hold her after we're in the air."
Willow sat up happily and gave Rosalie a kitten grin. She pawed at the glass and purred, making a circle in her carrier.
"She's beautiful." The woman gasped. "Where on earth did you get a snow lynx of that quality without dilution?"
Rosalie nervously smiled. She very clearly had no clue what the woman was talking about, but she hid it well.
"A gift from my honey." She ignored Willow's head tilt and smirked as the cat purred louder. "You said snow lynx? I thought she was a snow bengal?"
"Oh, she is one." The woman pointed to Willow's coat and stroked down the glass along her top line. "I used to show my cats. She's most certainly well bred. Her facial markings are impeccable and her green eyes are stunning."
Rosalie leaned into the counter and tried not to laugh at how adorable her mate looked with her little head held high with her cute bumble bee sweater Monday and Alice bought. She was obviously loving the praise and attention.
"They call her coloring a seal silver lynx point." She explained. "It's one of the most devine cat coats you'll see in felines. It's very intricate, and it shows how well bred they are from a distance—no testing needed. Your man got you a purebred doll. You're a lucky one."
"They're a keeper." Rosalie winked at Willow.
"You know—" The woman turned back to her computer and began inputting the information on Rosalie's ticket. "They used to say snow bangles were the bridge between the tamed and untamed. The heaven and hell of the domestic cat world. A god's balance. They even compared them to snow leopards and ability to withstand environments most can't."
"Impressive."
"Very." The woman watched the printed whirl before ripping off the sticker and lacing it through the handle of Willow's carrier. "Well, you're all checked in! If you'd like to take a seat, we'll be calling first class after our disabled and military passengers take their seats. I'll take your bags here."
"Thank you." Rosalie smiled.
She picked Willow's carrier up and left their larger suitcases behind. Once Rosalie settled down in a chair, she unzipped the carrier and cradled her mate.
"You look tired." She chuckled, scratching behind Willow's ear. "We'll take off soon."
Willow glanced at the cat and meowed, pawing toward the large New York City sign.
"Mhm." Rosalie nodded, guessing Willow was curious of their destination again. "One stop, then we'll take the direct to our next adventure."
Willow shoved her head under Rosalie's chin and forced her way onto her breasts. Her tail whisked playfully, curling up on her girlfriend's chest and closing her eyes.
"Sleep, sweetheart." Rosalie smiled, leaning her head into the cat's soft fur. "We'll be there soon."
