Boys will be boys......

" Alright class, please be seated!"

Oh, great! Having Ms. Arnolds as an English teacher? Are you kidding me? I'd rather have fried chicken as a teacher. P.E last year with Ms. Arnolds was a pain in the ass. No, literally. I tried my best to hide from the 200 sit ups we had to do everyday.

Well, I survived last year, why not this year? Oh yeah, because I've been put in the class where Tristan Johnson and his 'gang' is. Can my year get any worse?

Tristan Johnson. Tall, popular, idiotic, sporty, funny and TUMBLR BOY. I just absolutely, positively, accurately hate boys! Specifically TUMBLR BOYS! They're just so full of themselves and they think they're so darn perfect but in real fact, they're just idiots, mucking around with their lives and humping and dumping girls by the minute. They just irritate me. UGHH!

"Enough talking class! Now, wipe that smile off your faces, 'cause I have a prepared seating arrangement in my hand. You will all be sitting in this arrangement for the entire year."

The whole class bursted into argumentative responses. Some people stood up and banged the desks like it was some debate between Black Ops and TF2.  I rolled my eyes and turned towards my best friend, Annie. She also seemed disappointed. Somehow, Annie and I always ended up in the same class since grade 5. We always sat next to each other and she was always the beautiful, tall one. This was the first time I've been put in a seating arrangement.

Armstrong High School never really was an academically acclaimed school. Wonder why the school's fee was free. That was the only reason why my mom put me in this school. It was the only school she could afford. Her Wal-Mart job doesn't really cover enough for the two of us.

Eventually, everyone settled down and Ms. Arnolds proceeded pointing to tables and calling out people's names. It took a minute to realise the pattern. Boy, girl. What are we, grade 2's? This woman is gotta be kidding me. Ms. Arnolds even arranged the table in pairs. For the love of God!

She pointed to an empty table and looked directly at me. Her eyes pierced mine.

" Cassandra James and Tristan Johnson"

Huh? What? Where? When? My eyes widened at that moment. Out of all the boys in this class, Tristan? TRISTAN?!?! I noticed the whole class went quiet. I looked behind me to see if Tristan was there but all I found where his 'blonde bimbos' staring at me. They looked like they wanted to kill me. The 'blonde bimbos' chase Tristan everywhere. I would only see them twisting their hair around they're finger near Tristan and his friends. Melanie, Courtney and Jade. I think Jade is the only natural blonde. But what am I kidding?

Looked like he wasn't here today. Thank God. Ms. Arnolds finished the seating plan and finally began her lesson. I looked around the room for Annie and she was seating right next to Liam Parker. Tristan's best friend. He was looking at her while she was writing down notes. She looked uneasy. She realised I was looking at her and she looked up to me and frowned. I did as well and we both giggled.

I heard the door knock. Ms. Arnolds paused from writing on the board and walked towards the door and opened the door. I saw the 'blonde bimbos' positioning themselves upright and fixing their hair. Melanie snuck in a bit of lipgloss. I didn't dare turn my head around.

"Sorry, had an appointment" I heard a deep, husky voice which belonged to the one and only Tristan Johnson.

"Well, Mr. Johnson, that would be detention for you. And let this be a warning to you class, I do not, I repeat, I do not tolerate lateness in this class. It's time to discipline this school once and for all."

I turned around and Tristan was there in front of the class reading his detention slip. He removed his hoodie and fixed his bag on one of his shoulder. He started walking towards me but went straight past me and went to sit with one of his friends, Jake Miller who did not have a partner. I realised that Tristan didn't know about the seating plan so I kept my mouth shut hoping Ms. Arnolds won't notice.

"Sorry Mr.Johnson but I have arranged a seating plan. You'd be seating next to Cassandra here."

He groaned.

"I feel ya bro" I heard Jake.

I moved my books and pencils on my side of the table. I could here the footsteps getting louder and louder.

“Hey” Tristan’s voice rang into my ears.

“Hello?” I whispered.

“Now class, who knows who wrote the famous classic ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’?”

“Your mom!” Jake shouted which made the class chuckle. Oh dear, boys will be boys......

“Nice one Miller. Detention for 2 weeks with Mr. Johnson over here.” She smiled really big which made me laugh.

I faced Tristan for no reason and my eyes landed on his electric blue eyes then to his lips. He had a perfectly chiseled jawline and his thick eyebrows seemed to fit his face. He noticed I was looking at him and he smirked. He let a little laugh. Parts of his dark brown hair were peaking through his beanie. This was the first time I’ve seen him up close. He looks exactly the same on his tumblr blog. His eyelashes were dark and long. It felt like I was lost in his deep eyes. They were beautiful unlike my ones.

“Please read chapter 4 of ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ please, Cassandra. Nice big voice.”

I snapped out of it. Was I checking out Tristan Johnson. NO WAY. NO EFFIN WAY.

I began reading.

~

Class finished and I stayed behind until everyone was outside. I just had to tell Ms. Arnolds that I can’t next to him.  I walked over to Ms Arnolds who was wiping the board.

“Ms, um, well, how do I say this, but, uh, is it alright if you put me and Annie together? It’s just, you know, I feel really uncomfortable around Tristan. Besides, Annie and I work super well together. Pleeeeeaaase??” I asked ever so nicely.

“I know that you and Annie are at top of the class, it’s just, I wanted to give the school a change. It won’t be fair for the class if I put you two together anyway. Don’t worry. You’ll survive. Oh, and speaking about Tristan, is it alright if you tutor him for a while?”

That sentence froze me.
