Azin was walking towards her major classroom when she overheard something that shattered her heart. She had been convinced that her crush, Nike, liked her back. After all, he had showered her with gifts and sketches, making her incredibly happy. However, Azin didn't know that Nike was still hung up on his ex.
Azin's POV:
I was on my way to my major class when I heard something that broke my heart. I stopped in my tracks, unable to take another step towards the tech drafting classroom.
"Oh, I see," I sighed, my face falling as I turned around and walked back to my academic room. I stood there for a moment, then turned on my music.
"Azin! Tara sa CR na, iihi ako," Buelly said with a smile.
"Ehh ay sge," I responded.
Buelly was my best friend, like a sister to me.
We were in the CR, catching up.
"Azin?" Buelly asked softly.
"Oh?" I replied.
"I have something to tell you about Nike," she said.
The moment Buelly mentioned Nike, I knew what she was about to say.
"What?" I asked, even though I already knew.
"Nike opened up," Buelly said while she was in the bathroom stall.
"Nah, stop. I know it," I said, unable to bear hearing it anymore.
"Oh, so you already know?" Buelly responded.
"He's not my crush anymore. I'm tired of it," I said, stopping myself before I could say more. I didn't want Buelly to see me as a bad person for uncrushing my crush.
"Kakapagod ba?" Buelly asked, flushing the toilet. I knew she would understand.
"Tara na sa canteen," I replied, looking at Buelly.
Azin and Buelly went to the canteen. After finishing their lunch, they cleaned their academic room and headed to their major room.
Azin's POV:
As I walked to the front drafting table, I glanced at Nike, who wasn't looking at me. I realized, "Should I continue feeling this way? I think it's not worth it anymore. Damn, I knew from the start that he still misses that girl." These were my thoughts as I stared at my tracing paper. I put on my AirPods and listened to music.
Two hours passed. I stepped out of the room for a minute, staring at the STEM building while listening to music. I saw my classmate, an EPAS major, but I looked away and stared back at the STEM building. It had such a nice view of the clouds. Suddenly, a boy touched my head. I didn't know who it was at first, but when I turned my head, I saw Joe.
"Azin!" He said. It was Joe, the annoying boy in my class. He was walking down the stairs, heading home, I think.
"Oh, k hi," I responded, but I don't know if he noticed. I looked away. What was his problem? Did he not hesitate to touch my hair? Whatever. Back to my moment. Such an annoyance.
I was about to head back to the classroom to get my bag and go home. The song playing on my Spotify was so painful, it perfectly reflected my situation. I went to my table and grabbed my bag.
"Buelly, uuwi na ako, oie," I said with a smile.
"Ehh, it's too early. Why?" Buelly asked.
"Lola's looking for me. Bye-bye," I lied. I just really wanted to go home today because I wasn't feeling well. Not because of my health, but because of my heart.
"Okay, sge," Buelly sighed and smiled.
"Byee po," I said. I hugged Buelly and walked out of the room, waving goodbye.
Menion and I walked in silence. I wasn't really in the mood to talk. After dropping Menion off at her house, I waved goodbye and continued walking home alone.
I got home and went straight to my room, collapsing on my bed.
"Hyst," I cried, thinking about everything that had happened today. Another traumatic day.
"So, this is part of being a teenager? Damn," I said to myself.
"Hell nah, it's okay. He's not the only boy in the world, anyway," I said, crying.
I fell asleep while crying, my heart aching. Today, I made a decision. I was going to uncrush Nike. I put all of his gifts and sketches in a cabinet, locked it, and put them in a safe place. I'm used to it. Whenever I like someone, something always goes wrong and hurts me in the end. I continued crying until I fell asleep.
