In Vicious Velvet the place where Velvet lives is a monarchy and has class division
class division (highest to lowest)- royalty, duke/viscount, other high noble status, businessmen, warriors, commoners, and women.
In this time of age, there is a lot of prejudice and stereotypes about women. Kind of like prehistoric times 100 years ago.
Because of the stereotype and prejudice if a noble of high rank (top three in the class division) has a girl child they kill them because at that time they were thought of as 'impure' and useless witches, unlike their sons.
This book is a recording of the main characters' veiw of what happened during that time any brackets in the story are the thought of the main character during this story
