GRAYSON
MEADOWSJaxon earned the nickname "Dead Eyes" for a reason, and right now, it was on full display. We were all in the living room with Mama and Papa Crist, trying to watch a movie, but Jaxon's gaze kept drifting to Damon and Marcella. She was curled up beside Damon, her legs draped over his lap, her body practically melted into his. The only thing stopping their PDA from escalating was Mama Crist's presence, and even that felt like a thin barrier. And if Daisy wasn't here things would've gone ugly between Jaxon and Damon.
The tension in Jaxon's jaw told me everything I needed to know—he was seconds away from snapping.
"Hey, guys," Stella suddenly asked, her voice cutting through the casual chatter, her eyes locking with mine in a glare that made me raise an eyebrow. "Do you think I'm extra?"
I leaned back, a smirk playing at the corner of my lips as I met her gaze. "Only as much as the sun is hot," I shot back, giving her a playful wink. Stella's cheeks flushed a deep shade of red, and without missing a beat, she stuck her tongue out at me, a mix of annoyance and amusement in her expression.
Damon, ever the instigator, snorted and turned toward Stella with a smirk of his own. "Does the sky look blue to you?" he quipped, his tone dripping with sarcasm. Avery, who had been lounging lazily on Alessio's lap, added with a grin, "You'd win an Oscar for being extra." Her voice was light, teasing, but there was a playful edge to it.
Stella rolled her eyes dramatically, clearly getting fed up with the teasing, but her voice was dead serious when she responded. "But you guys would call me angelic, right?" she asked, her tone catching us all off guard. "You guys should stop attacking me, I'm too hot for this."
I leaned in, a smirk tugging at my lips as I looked her over. "Yeah, the angel kind that causes chaos," I grinned back, my words dripping with a hint of mischief.
Alessio raised an eyebrow at her, his expression shifting to something more amused but skeptical. "Sure, if by angel you mean a troublemaker with wings," he remarked, the corner of his lips twitching as if he couldn't quite hold back the grin.
Jaxon, who had been lounging nearby, rolled his eyes, not even attempting to hide his exasperation. "You're more like a demon on vacation, I honestly love bullying you, Stella pissed off is hilarious." he said with a smirk, his voice dripping with sarcasm as he tossed a teasing glance in her direction.
Stella broke the moment with her usual flair for dramatics. "Hey, guys, do you think I'm extra?" she asked suddenly, her eyes locking onto mine with a playful glare.
"Only as much as the sun is hot," I replied smoothly, sending her a wink. Her cheeks flushed a deep red, and she stuck her tongue out at me like a kid.
Damon snorted, glancing at her with a smirk. "Does the sky look blue to you?"
"You'd win an Oscar for being extra," Avery chimed in from her perch on Alessio's lap, her tone dripping with mock seriousness.
Stella rolled her eyes, undeterred. "But you guys would call me angelic, right?" This time, her voice carried a hint of sincerity, like she genuinely wanted to know.
"Yeah, the kind that causes chaos," I shot back with a grin, earning a round of laughter.
Alessio raised an eyebrow, his lips curving into a smirk. "Sure, if by angel you mean a troublemaker with wings."
"You're more like a demon on vacation," Jaxon muttered, his tone flat as he barely glanced her way.
Daisy, sitting quietly beside me, suddenly spoke up, her voice soft but matter-of-fact. "Angels probably don't roll their eyes as much as you do." Her comment caught everyone off guard. She hesitated, frowning slightly before adding, "Sorry, I didn't mean that offensively. It's just... you always have this glare. And if you mean angelic, well, only if sarcasm counts as a virtue."
