Well I was bored as hell. As I had made my way through the vent, I had found a sense of bearing, it was set up to follow the construction of the house. So basically I was just traveling between rooms and the ceiling.

I thought this would be an adventure, but it was the opposite. It was a pain when I had to make my way through the pitch dark. I was starting to get claustrophobic.

But then I started to hear someone saying something. I edge closer to a different vent shaft, the closer I got the brighter it was. I slowed my movements needing to be quieter just in case someone might hear.

“She’s perfect, everything I could have hoped for and more. However there is the matter of her being forced into this,” The voice paused. “No, but she’s not just any girl. Had she been any other girl I would have left it at that. So yes I plan to go through with this.”

Well I didn’t like that any bit. I peered out though the metal slots on the grate. I could see a man sitting down at a desk with his back to me.

He had jet black hair that was so dark it had a blue sheen. I could tell that he was about as tall as Ian, he had upper body strength what with his wide frame and thick upper body.

“You should see how she has grown, you would never have believed that she has turned out as gorgeous as she has.” He laughed at something that was said on the other side of the line. “Granted, she does have a bit of an anger problem. But nothing that I can’t handle.”

Oh really, how about I let you meet my fist and we’ll see if you can handle me then. Bastard.

“I agree, who wouldn’t have a bit of anger after being locked in the same house for almost eighteen years.”

There was a considerable pause as he became more serious and leaned forward toward the desk. “In two days is when I will be able to take her home. Apparently there was a misunderstanding she had with a knife to the gut.”

“I really doubt that it was any misunderstanding.” He relaxed a bit at what was being said to him over the phone. When he laughed again he startled me with that throaty chuckle. My head banged on the side of the metal.

He stilled and abruptly stood up and turned around. I blink in surprise. Had he not been trying to force me to marry me, I probably would have dated him to get on Ian’s nerves to crack him. Not that that was a problem anymore.

But his face was striking with sparkling dark blue eyes. He had full lips, by his nose was a bit awkward on his face. However he had nothing on my Ian.

Just as abruptly as he turned he turned back as we both heard a scream tear through the air. I only needed one guess as to whom.

“I swear that that woman could drive a saint to suicide.” He placed his phone back to his ear. “I’ll talk to you later; apparently my bride to be is a bit more of a challenge for Mildred to handle. I love a woman who can strategize. Talk to you later.” He hung up with a deep sigh.

The door opened and a diminished Mildred cautiously stepped in.

“I take it you lost her?” He spoke in a stern voice.

“I don’t know how it happened.” She babbled uselessly.

“How could you lose one girl that is stuck in bed unconscious from your mistake?!” he yelled furiously.

“I-I-I, I don’t know how this happened. But I’ll find her shortly.” She rushed from the room like a bug fleeing for its life. I inwardly laughed at the thought.

He moved toward the door but stopped at the frame. “I would think you have about ten minutes to get out before someone might decide to check the vents.” He spoke with a soft joy.

He muttered something about enjoying a good chase. Whatever that meant. But it was all I needed for terms of motivation.

By the end of five minutes I made it to the vent leading outside. I quickly brake off the grate and slide outside. I repair the grate and place it back. Luckily for me all the oil had rubbed off in the vent system. So once again I was squeaky clean, but with oil in all my pores.

Thank god for the little things.

I slowly and carefully make my way to my bag and pull out a dress and pull it on. It fell down to mid-thigh and was a dark green with bright green leaves. Fitting, I pull out a pair of shoes and put them on nice and tight.

Looking back I spotted him at my windows looking out toward me. I freeze but I wave him bye. There was no way in hell I would be with him. I could barely make out him grinning.

I was able to make it out, so till next time. Ya, when hell freezes over.

Turning back I felt the sun on my back and it was pleasantly warm. Knowing that I had nothing left here, I left.

I know that this chapter was short but I felt at ends adding the next part so I decided to cut it off as it is. Sorry but please comment and vote. (è_ç)
