Ba Reum was clinging tightly to Hyuk, the sobbing calming down to sniffles while he pressed his face into the large shoulder.
He really hadn't meant to cause a mess, but he could feel it being pressed against his backside while mommy was walking, the man holding him so warmly.
This walk was supposed to be a repayment for the man buying him diapers, and Ba Reum had meant to stay big, to talk about normal stuff.
But it had been impossible to not grow fuzzy with both Hyuk and Moo Chi near him and even though this was meant as a repayment, he had even gotten dinner and a dessert out of it.
And all he could do was just dirty himself!
"Sorry mommy," Ba Reum said with a small sob, feeling the man quickly walking with big steps.
"It's okay sweetheart," Hyuk easily said, "let's get you back to my place and into a clean diaper."
"Sorry," Ba Reum said again, finding it hard to keep up with the words, but again he was soothed with soft tones, and there wasn't an angry word being heard at all.
It surprised him immensely that the man wasn't embarrassed or angry at him for making such a mess in public, and even worse, with someone he worked with so near.
Ba Reum bit his lip and looked a bit at the detective walking next to them, nearly jogging to keep up with the big steps mommy was taking. God, why did his teacher have to witness this.
He really hoped that Moo Chi was truly as kind as he had been before, because he really didn't want to be called poopy pants at school again.
Hyuk was glad when the little stopped crying and just was lying against him, his thumb in his mouth and still looking very unhappy and sad, occasionally a sniffle and a shudder still escaping him. Ba Reum was probably still very upset, he guessed, but hopefully he would be able to reassure the little soon.
They were soon out of the park, and it took him a while before he noticed that Moo Chi was struggling to walk his pace, and he slowed down just a little.
It would only be a few minutes time he would win with that, nothing that would make a difference at this point.
"Here it is," Hyuk said, walking up the front path to his front door.
"Let's get him in. Poor little guy," Moo chi said, rubbing Ba Reum's arm, "hey there, mommy is going to make it all okay soon, you'll see."
Ba Reum gave a sniffle in response, while Hyuk looked a little surprised at the detective, not ever having suspected that he could talk like that, the concern obvious in his voice.
But he shouldn't have doubted the man. For all his bluster and bravado, he was truly a gentle soul. Even though he could make jokes with people, he made sure that everyone still found it funny, and always made sure it never passed the stage of simple teasing.
"Moo Chi is right. Mommy will take care of it," Hyuk said, putting Ba Reum on the floor to help him take off his coat and shoes.
The little gave a whine when the mess shifted differently than before, but nothing more. Hyuk noticed that the little was still wearing his old and worn pair of sneakers, and one of his socks had a whole in it.
Moo Chi was already helping Ba Reum out of his coat before Hyuk could, gently easing the arms out and hanging it neatly away.
Lifting Ba Reum once again, he turned to Moo Chi, who was hovering near, his gaze strictly on Ba Reum.
"Why don't you make yourself comfortable on the couch, I'll be right back," Hyuk said, making Moo Chi look at him startled for him before nodding and taking a step back.
