Hey y'all I know it's been a while and y'all are still waiting on other chapters that have been promised but I need to address this first. Weather gear. There is some stuff mentioned about it in 39-1, however, while i do recommend getting a fleece and/or a gortex I understand that that stuff is expensive. The only reason I have both is that my squadron has an amazingly stocked supply closet. So, for those that can't afford or just don't want to deal with crazy Vanguard shenanigans, you do not need uniform weather gear. I understand that it is encouraged, but if you can't get a hold of uniform weather gear, then wear civilian weather gear. I know that at least where I am and probably some of y'all that it is getting pretty cold or stays pretty cold depending on where you live. There are a lot of cold weather injuries that have happened to cadets during cold events because they didn't bring anything warm. At my squadron we do a lot of outside activities so we spend a lot of the meeting outside and some cadets can't get fleeces. Cold and rain can both be very serious things and can lead to safety issues. Because of the safety concerns you need to make sure you have gear to keep you warm and dry even if that gear is civilian. Now on that note, try not to wear a florescent pink jacket or anything like that but bring something that will keep you warm and dry depending on what the weather may call for. That's all I got on that. Y'all stay safe and sour high!
