"Cakes and Candles- Part 2"

Sreedevi

I kept staring at the beautiful purple watch on my hand with a smile on my lips.

It was almost midnight yesterday, the clock was ticking towards the day I would turn 26. Ajay was inside me, moving in and out. His hands were intertwining mine and his lips were feathering all over my neck. The moment was so ecstatic that I forgot the fact that I was a living human being in bed. I opened my eyes and stared at his beautiful countenance. I touched his face, he kissed my palm and kept looking into my eyes.

The moonlight from the window that swept into our room amidst the curtains covered half of his face. Some of his hair fell on his sweat beaded forehead. I moved it away combing his soft hair and pulled his face down to peck his beautiful lips. He reeked of fresh blueberry, it might be his new conditioner. He was taking deep breaths, doing nothing but staring at my face. That would have been the most aesthetic thing that I have ever seen. How deep have I fallen in love with you Ajay?

"Devi" He whispered.

"Hmmmm?" I hummed entranced in the moment.

"Happy birthday" he said.

A smile spread across my face. He kissed my lips and looked at me.

"Thank you jay" I said wrapping my hands around his neck.

He smiled like how a flower bloomed and got off me and rolled over to his side of the bed to the side table and opened the drawer. I sat up wrapping my naked body with the bedsheet. He took out a box and gave it to me. I opened it and found this beautiful purple watch inside it. I was surprised because that was something that I wanted as my old watch wasn't working anymore. The watch was simple with diamond like beads around the rim. I couldn't see it properly, so I switched on the side lamp and a gasp escaped my lips. The watch was incredibly beautiful with "my lifetime" written inside it. I looked at him who was smiling at me. I looked at him and the watch back and forth. He chuckled at me.

"My lifetime?" I asked him.

"Yes" He moved closer to me and wrapped a hand around my shoulder. "You are my lifetime devi.. every single second and minute that passes by, is you.. whenever you look at the time, I want you to remember that you are valued just like the time and that you mean the world to me" he said.

I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him as baby tears formed in my eyes. 'You mean the world to me' I don't think anyone has ever told me that before. I didn't mean anything to anyone all these years. His indirect way of expressing love is my favorite part. He pulled me back and kissed my head.

"We have a lifetime?" I asked as a question like a little girl.

"Yes we have a lifetime devi but I dont want to waste even a second of it" He said and kissed me. I giggled and kissed him back.

"Sreedevi maam?" I jerked out of my trance.

Ugh not again!!

I looked up, the principal was looking at me.

"Care to share your suggestions?" He asked.

I stood up and prepared myself to talk, clearing my throat I said "Sir I think so much pressure for the students at the beginning of the academic year is not necessary"

Almost all the teachers gathered for the meeting gasped. I know all they do is either just nod along to whatever he says or complain about the students. The principal tied his right arm against his chest and held his chin with his left hand.
