The weekend in Spain had been nothing short of an adventure. The Grand Prix, the glamour, the fast cars—it had all been a whirlwind. But as the Beckhams gathered their things at the airport, there was a sense of relief. It was time to go home.
Sophia felt a strange mix of exhaustion and exhilaration. She'd had fun, of course. Meeting new people, catching up with old friends, and even getting to know Mason a little better. But now, after all the excitement, she couldn't wait to get home and relax. It felt good to know that, despite the chaos of her life, the one constant was her family. The house in London that she had always lived in. The house where she was surrounded by the people who knew her best.
"See you at home, Soph," Romeo said, giving her a quick hug as they parted ways at the airport. "Text me if you need anything when you get back, okay?"
"Of course," she replied, giving him a smile. "I'll be fine. Just getting home to unpack and chill for a bit."
Romeo was already texting his girlfriend, Mia, as usual. Despite their long-distance relationship, Romeo always seemed to be connected with Mia in one way or another, and it was no surprise he'd be heading back to Brentford to be with her.
Sophia waved goodbye, watching him disappear into the crowd of travelers. It was strange, she thought, how different their lives were now that they were adults. Romeo had his life in Brentford, living independently. Sophia had stayed in the family home, and she wasn't planning on leaving anytime soon.
It wasn't that she didn't want her own place—she simply loved the comfort of home too much to give it up. Plus, her family was everything to her. She couldn't imagine being far away from them, especially with how close she was to her little sister, Harper, who was always a bundle of energy and excitement.
Sophia made her way out of the airport, her luggage rolling behind her. A car was already waiting to take her back to the house, the place where she'd spent her entire life. Her parents' home.
When the car arrived, she took a moment to appreciate the familiar sight of her parents' house in the distance. As she stepped inside, the smell of home-cooked food wafted through the air. Victoria was in the kitchen, already preparing dinner, while David was lounging on the couch, his favorite spot to unwind after a long trip.
"Welcome back, darling," Victoria said, glancing up from the stove. "How was it?"
"It was great, but exhausting," Sophia replied, dropping her bag by the door. "You won't believe the weekend I had. It was so much fun, but I'm glad to be home."
Victoria gave her a knowing smile. "I'm sure. Come on, tell me all about it. You look like you have something to spill."
Before she could say more, Harper, her little sister, appeared in the doorway, practically bouncing with excitement.
"Sophia! You're home! You have to tell me everything! I've been dying to hear about the Grand Prix!" Harper exclaimed, her wide brown eyes sparkling with curiosity.
Sophia laughed as Harper practically lunged at her, giving her a tight hug. "Okay, okay, I'll tell you all about it. But you have to promise not to tell anyone, okay?"
Harper's eyes narrowed in mock seriousness. "I swear, I won't tell anyone. Now tell me, did you meet any cute drivers?"
Sophia blushed, her cheeks turning a light pink. "Well... Mason Mount was there. We spent some time talking, and he's actually really nice."
Harper's eyes practically popped out of her head. "MASON MOUNT? The Chelsea guy?!" she shrieked, before quickly covering her mouth in a half-hearted attempt to not alert the whole house. "You're telling me that you were hanging out with MASON MOUNT?"
