chapter seven!  All eyes on me ☆

That same night, Pip and Ravi once again took on the role of Emma, convincing Nat to meet them. They'd decided that it was the only way they could get any information from her, including her version of what had happened in April.

Although Cassie couldn't deny that it wasn't a bad idea, she still worried about what Nat would say or if she would spill to anyone else.

Cassandra decided it was best that she didn't join them, it would cause more bad than good if she did and she was not about to complicate things. Nat had Dan, and Dan knew Jason. It would've been too risky and obvious if she showed up, especially alongside Pippa and Ravi, so instead, she laid in her bed awaiting an update from the pair.

When she finally received the update, it was not one that surprised her; their encounter hadn't gone particularly as planned at first, but after a few subtle nudges from Ravi, Nat gave them everything they needed, whether she knew it or not. She'd spoken about Andie, claiming she had changed and gone into 'self destruct mode'.

Pip didn't tell her much else and Cassie just assumed it was because there was nothing else to tell. She was fully oblivious to the fact that Pip secretly visited Max Hastings and the newly found information that her sister was involved with dealers.

That was why she was totally stumped when Pip proposed going to the next calamity party.

From everything she had learned about the Fitz-Amobi, this seemed totally out of character. Cassie knew exactly what calamities were like; loud, chaotic affairs where underage teenagers drank till they passed out, got high, and lost themselves in reckless behaviour. She knew her sisters used to attend them, they weren't as good at hiding that fact as they thought they were, and she certainly knew it was no place for someone like her or Pip.

Pip had also told her that she'd pitch the idea to her friends on the first day back of the academic year, which rolled around too quickly.

Cassandra Bell couldn't count the number of eyes that landed on her the moment she stepped foot into the building, or at least that's what it felt like. It had taken her multiple minutes before deciding to leave the comfort and safety of her car and make the short walk across the parking lot to the campus, unsure of what the day would hold, too much anticipation reeling in the pit of her stomach.

It stood tall before her, almost daunting, as though it itself wanted nothing but to stare and look down on the blonde.

Cassie hated walking through the hallways alone, she could still hear the whispers from five years ago which would start the moment the heels of her Doc Martins hit the shiny floor and would follow her through the corridors trailing behind and waiting for her by the door of her classroom until she sat down, and an uncomfortable silence took over.
