A/n: let's all appreciate Alex and AJ in that pic 😩❤️
*Alex's POV*
I sat outside on my back porch, writing in this stupid notebook thing my aunt got me. But the only thing I was writing about was Addilynn. She was in California for softball right now and I missed her a lot.
'She was fierce, she was strong. She wasn't simple. She was crazy and sometimes barely slept. She always had something to say. She had flaws and that was perfectly okay. When she was down, she got right back up. She was a beast in her own way. But one idea described her best - she was unstoppable and took everything she wanted with a smiled.' I wrote as an ash from my cigarette fell onto the paper. I flicked it away and put the cigarette out, then stood up and made my way inside.
It sounded lame but I was lonely and needed someone to talk to. So I knew there was only one person to go to - AJ.
It was almost 6 when I pulled up and they were home. I went up and knocked on the door. Ava opened it and AJ was close behind her.
"Hey, Alex Wood!" Ava smiled, causing me to laugh.
"Hi! Can I come in?" I questioned, smiling down at her.
"Yeah!" She said happily.
"Oh, hi Alex! You wanna join us for supper?" Lisa asked me, standing by the stove.
"If that's okay I'd be happy to." I replied.
"It's no problem!" She smiled.
"Woody, can I talk to you?" AJ asked. I knew what this conversation was going to be about; and it wasn't baseball.
We made our way outside and sat down on the patio. It was December now it was freezing cold.
"You missing Adds?" He looked over at me, his elbows on his knees. I nodded in reply.
"A lot."
"Well, I have a question," He started. Well, time to face the music now, Alexander.
"Did you and Addilynn, ya know?" I laughed a little.
"Like, did y'all do the deed?" I laughed even harder, him laughing a little too.
"The reason I'm not saying it is because I don't want her to grow up. I can't stand the thought of her not being little innocent Addie." He used the nickname for her.
"But if you did do something, that's okay. I know that's just life." He shrugged.
"Yeah..." I trailed, not making eye contact. He sighed before replying.
"Well, let's go in here and eat." He changed the subject and stood up and headed for the door. I followed behind and sat in between Ava and Austin.
I got home around 8:30 and decided to call Addilynn. I missed her so much.
"Hello?" She answered. She sounded drunk.
"Addilynn? Babe are you okay?" I paced around my apartment.
"Oh yeah, I'm fine." She slurred.
"Addilynn, honey, no you're not." I tried to talk to her.
"Yes I am, Robert." She sasses.
"Addilynn, let me talk to one of the other girls." I told her.
"Okay." She replied, giggling. I knew she had to be drunk because she would've told me no any other time.
"Hello?" A girl with a higher pitched voice asked.
"Um, hi. I'm Alex, Addilynn's boyfriend. Who's this?" I asked in a friendly voice.
"This is Katie. I know she's drunk but we're in her hotel room with her and sitting up with her." She informed me.
"Okay well, will you have her call me when she sobers up?" I questioned, concern in my voice.
"Yep." She told me and I hung up. I didn't mean to be rude, but I was worried about her.
I sat up until midnight when I got a call back. And I wasn't sure how it's was going to go.
"Hello?" She answered, tried-ness filling her voice.
"Addilynn Marie, are you okay?" I questioned, staring out at Atlanta that was off in the distance.
"I'm hungover as crap." I could see her now. She was probably in a White Sox sweatshirt and sleep shorts, her hair was probably messy and she was more than likely sitting criss-cross on her hotel bed. The Pierzynski's had an obsession with the White Sox even though AJ hadn't played there in a while.
"I know, I can tell." I laughed a little.
"Don't get sassy with me, Alexander. I'm hungover and my heads killing me." I could hear her smiling a bit.
"Well, are y'all coming back tomorrow?" I questioned.
"Yeah, thankfully. Do you miss me?" She giggled.
"Like crazy. AJ and I talked today."
"What about?" She asked.
"Us. He asked if we did the deed as he put it." I told her and she laughed.
"He's always like that. I don't know why. I'm sorry." She told me.
"No, it's fine. He said it was okay." I told her.
"He might've told you that but he might not actually mean it. I mean you know how he is." She told me.
"Well, you know him better than me." I replied.
"He's probably really mad that I'm not his innocent little Addie anymore." She quoted exactly what he said.
"That's exactly what he called you." I told her.
"That honestly doesn't surprise me. He doesn't want me to grow up. He cried when I got my senior pictures taken for high school." She laughed.
"AJ Pierzynski crying? Have you gotten hit in the head with a softball while you've been out there or?" I joked.
"I'm not kidding! He cries a lot." She giggled again. I loved when we could have conversations like this. It was good for the both of us.
A/n: hey! I'm sorry this update sucked but I really wanted to get Alex and AJ's conversation in. Hope you guys enjoy! This one's for you, KellBell59 !
