The Sunset

The Kailash family is a warm, loving, and happy household. The father is caring and attentive, the mother is a mix of humor and fiery determination, and their 6-year-old son, Shiv, brings joy and energy to their lives.

One fine morning, Shiv is getting ready for school.

"Come on, Shiv, you're going to be late for school!" his dad calls out. Shiv runs towards him, hurriedly putting on his shoes.

"Don't forget your math homework!" his mom yells from the kitchen.

"Yes, Mom!" Shiv replies as he rushes out.

The family gets into the car, and they drive to Shiv's school. As they reach the gate, Shiv hops out, waves to his parents, and says, "Bye! Love you!" before running towards the school building, eager to make it on time.

Meanwhile, his parents have plans for the day—they’re going to visit a property they’ve been considering for their dream home. The location is two hours away, so they start the long drive.

When they arrive, the sight of the property amazes them. It feels perfect—spacious, serene, and full of potential. As they walk around, they begin to visualize their future there, dreaming of the life they could build. Excited and content, they seal the deal and start their journey back home.

Back at school, Shiv's day has ended, and he waits at the gate for his parents to pick him up. One hour passes, then two, but there’s no sign of them. By the third hour, all the other students have left, and Shiv is the only one remaining.

Finally, a servant from his uncle's house arrives to pick him up. Shiv, though young, has always been strong-minded and mature for his age. Something doesn’t feel right to him, but he silently follows the servant.

When they reach his uncle’s house, Shiv’s unease grows stronger. He isn’t fond of his uncle, his father’s brother, who is a man weighed down by debts, greed, and selfishness. The uncle is known for his unpredictable and fake behavior, a heartless man who hides his true intentions behind a facade of charm.

"Come here, Shiv," the uncle calls out with a forced smile.

Shiv hesitates, sensing the wickedness behind the words. He doesn’t move closer, but his uncle insists, beckoning him again with the same fake grin.

Finally, Shiv walks closer, his small frame tense with suspicion. The uncle leans down and whispers something into Shiv’s ear.

Whatever he says leaves Shiv trembling. The boy's confidence gives way to fear, and he begins to shake, the weight of his uncle's words pressing heavily on his young heart.
