War.

Entire forests devastated, cities destroyed, millions of people dead.

War exists only and for destruction. Two armies fight for power they will not have, and annihilate each other, and people who have done nothing wrong. But there is another type of war. War caused by beings whose only purpose is to destroy worlds. The Shurekku. And they have attacked our world. Even though we have destroyed their threat, they have destroyed our world, and completed their purpose. This is not a win. We are alive, but millions of people aren't.

I can't believe that we are alive. And I can't believe that we just defeated the most threatful thing that exists in our cosmos. We are not kings or princes, not even good warriors. But we are legends. A Majutsu-shi, a Haiburiddo, an Ite, a Korekuta and a Kishu. Slayers of the Shurekku. But that didn't help to save the world from devastation. I know a way to save everyone, a way that will bring all the lives lost in this war, that will fix the world, a healing spell so strong that everything would regrow. But I'm in doubt. This power is greater than the one a God could use, and that's because I'm an Ultrapowerful being. I'm a Baransu Guardian, a Master Guardian. And I'm not allowed to use such power in the Mortal's Realm.

Everyone is celebrating, and I am apart. My friend Calliope sees and comes near to me. She is a Haiburiddo, a hybrid between a human and a feline. In my eyes she is very beautiful. She has chocolate brown hair, with stripes all over her body, and a tail that is very long, and brown, and her eyes were as blue as the sky.

– Hey Stella, what's wrong? We won the war! Cheer up! – How can I cheer up, when we will all probably die of hunger in the future?

– Callie, have you seen the state of the world! You can see it very clearly in that valley! – the valley that I was pointing at used to be a forest, and it had been burned down to the ground, and there layed hundreds of bodies that had yet to be buried, from the Great War of the Valley. By seeing this you could imagine the rest of the world perfectly.

By then, Howl, Will and Ayla had stopped celebrating and looked at us.

I breathed deeply.

– You have to focus on the present and forget the future. – Says Howl.

It's curious how my friends think I am. I actually am so stuck in the past, that thinking in the future just helps me forget it. But if they wanted me to focus on the present, I will. People are dying of hunger and diseases, there are no forests, the air is so contaminated that it's hard to breathe, and, the worst thing, people don't want to live anymore. No one should hate living so much that they decide to end the gift of life. A gift that people would die so that others may enjoy it.

I have made a decision.

–For so long, the past has stopped me from doing things freely. I have lived many years, and have made many mistakes. It's time I let the past go, and focus on the present. People are suffering, and I hesitate to help them. There are no forests, and I hesitate to grow new ones. People have died, and I hesitate to bring them back to life. I won't let my past define my future. – Will and Ayla look at me as if I just went mad. Callie looks worried. And Howl... Howl doesn't show any emotion at all, as always. From the first moment we met him, we knew he would be our leader. He was a young Korekuta, a Collector, and he never showed any emotion, any emotion at all. He was really handsome, with black, short hair, and green eyes.

– Are you okay, Stella? – Ayla asked. She's an Ite, an Archer, and she is really good at archery. Really, really good. She has long, blond hair, always tied in a ponytail. Her eyes are brown, and she really likes animals, especially birds. She has one called Yanlunnis, he's the phoenix king, and she likes him very much.

– Of course I'm okay, and as I've already said, It's time to fix the world. – I extend my hand and my staff appears. It's a long stick, white, that ends in a circle, and in the middle, there is a seven pointed star floating, with a blue shiny feather inside. I put the staff in front of me and closed my eyes. I'm trying to concentrate. A strong wind starts blowing. My white hair starts floating around me, and my staff and I start glowing blue.

– What are you doing, Stella? – Asked Will – Is that a spell?

–Yes – I answer – It's a spell that will fix the world. I will not repeat the same mistakes of the past, I will not let this world down too. Not like Aurora. Not again, and not ever.

– What do you mean this world? – Will is not the smartest of us. He's a Kishu, a Rider. He loves his horse as much as us. He has short, blond hair, and blue eyes (Will, not the horse). The horse is brown.

I smiled at his question

–When I was young, I visited other worlds, when cosmos travelling was still a thing, and all the Realm was united. And you see what happened here? It happened before once. I was in charge of protecting the heroes of that world, but I wasn't capable of protecting them. They ended up dying. And it was all my fault. Aurora ceased to exist because of one miserable choice I made. Five hundred years of regret, all because of that choice. But, as I said before, I won't let the past define my future anymore. I am the last Baransu Guardian, and I'm going to fix this world!

This is probably the first time I've ever seen Howl with a facial expression. Confusion. Maybe he thought what I meant with '' When I was young''. To his eyes I'm merely a kid, or a teen-ager. But then I stopped seeing him, because the wind had intensified, and my aura was at its maximum. I was prepared to let go of my past.

Megami masutāsutera kara ataerareta-ryoku de, inochi to mahō no chikara o yobiokosu – I was starting my incantation. My aura turned gold, and I channelled more magic. Around me, a circle with runes drowned on, and with me in the middle, started glowing too. My body started to change into my real one. Some golden, flaming wings started to grow on my back, and deer horns grew on my head. My skin turned white, and three black spots appeared under each eye, and I growed a white tail, with a red, flaming ending.

Around me everything started growing green. The planet was healing. And the glowing stopped. I growed back into my Majutsu-shi form. But I was suddenly blind. My eyesight had disappeared. And it will never come back. The price to pay when you heal people that are dead. And soon, my magic will fade.

– Stella, how did you do that? – Exclaimed Callie – No one has the power to heal an entire world! What are you? Who are you?

– I am your friend. Thank you for being mine for so long. It's time for the last Guardian to disappear from the Realms. Have luck in life. And remember: Don't let the past define you. The wars that are most important are the ones against ourselves. – I started to fade. And disappeared from history.
