Harmony~

I feel a light tap on the shoulder,awaking me from my deep slumber. I open my eyes to see my professors face and next to him is a worried looking Jacobi."Hey sleeping beauty,you alright?"I nod as I sit up,stretching. "Jacobi helped me get you awake,you were sleep for quite some time"I look over at Jacobi who just smiles slightly.

"You getting enough sleep?"I nod and start to put my things in my bag."I'm fine,just had work last night"The professor accepts my excuse and begins to walk back down to his desk. I throw my bag over my shoulder and acknowledge Jacobi who's still standing there,looking at me with curiosity in his eyes.

"Thanks for waking me up"He just nods and I feel awkward so I begin to walk away. Not long after I hear his heavy footsteps following behind me all the way out the door."Harmony"I stop in my tracks,his low husky voice makes my name sound like a command.I turn around to face him and he gives me a look of pity"you okay?"I nod with a quick hum. He bites his lip in an anxious manner and I send him a tight lipped smile.

"Have you eaten?"My heart tightens. I swallow the pin in my throat and nod."you sure? We can go get something to eat"I just shrug.

He looks around like he wants to make whatever this conversation is quick"You seem busy but we can if you really want"He nods his head over down the hallway and begins to walk. I follow next to him and feel his frequent glances."I saw Lily,she came into the shop"He clears his throat."She didn't say anything weird to you did she?"I shake my head no,lying through my teeth"Nope,just being Lily"He chuckles lowly and I do so as well.

I take the chance to look over at him,his hands stuffed in his sweat pants pockets and he's wearing a loose unzipped grey jacket. His arms are relaxed and he looks stern,like he's focused on something. He glances over at me and I quickly turn my direction else where. I hear his slight exhale,filled with a tone of stress,

"How's Xander?"I dart my eyes over to him,surprised to hear him bringing him up. I shrug. The truth is the only time I see Xander is when he's with he's friends and intoxicated. He never asks to hang out in his free time anymore,I'm just a plus one to all of the hang outs and parties he attends,an accessory. It's embarrassing,but not so much when Haley's there.

The only times we hang out alone are when he wants to do it,and then he leaves. Or when he needs something,like some help with studying or some other bull shit that he'll make an excuse to leave right after I'm done fixing it. I've tried to break my cycle,to stop following behind him like a shadow. But it's like as soon as I step from behind him,go the other way to try and meet him at the other end,he freaks.

"He's okay"He smiles almost like he's happy to hear it,but I know he's not.we arrive to his car and I hear my name being called out just as I'm reaching for the handle. Jacobi's expression changes when he looks over my shoulder where the voice is coming from. I look over to see Xander walking over"Oh hey,thought you were packing for your trip"tomorrow he's supposed to be leaving for New York like said.

I feel a slight enjoyment when I'm reminding of this."yeah but thought I'd come take you out before the bond fire tonight" I smile as he pecks me on the lips. He looks over me at who I'm guessing Jacobi"you gonna be there tonight?"Jacobi shrugs nonchalantly. "Well babe,you wanna go or are you guys busy?"I look back at Jacobi who's still just standing there. I was really hoping I could talk to him but I know this will be an argument later if I don't go with Xander.

"I'll call you Kobe"He nods and gets in his car. Xanders hand slips into mine and we watch as Jacobi pulls off."He's still stingy I see"I sigh. We begin to walk on the side walk,hand in hand."No,I think he's just tired. He was acting like that towards me too"He hums in response. I listen to the chaos of the traffic on the road next to us"Where are we going?"
