In the beginning it was Zoey and I. Our secret plan to leave Battery City and our tyrant like family who worked for BL/ind was just a thought, but then Summer, Katelynn, and Alex joined in. We hadn't been taking our pills for weeks. The night we escaped would live in the back of our minds forever. Of course, something went wrong. Alex forgot her family photo and tried to get it when she was shot down by the one person she cared about the most.

"Dylan, no!" Katelynn screamed to her sisters husband/killer. Tears spilled onto her cheeks as I grabbed her arm and pulled her in the backseat of Summers car. Zoey looked to the back to see me hugging Katelynn and silently crying with her.

"Goddamn BL/ind. Brainwashing everyone," I sobbed. Summer drove cautiously out of the city, but at an alarming speed. The Dracs didn't care much about people leaving as they did entering.

The cars battery died when I had been driving for about an hour. I could see a small station up ahead... And a car. Zoey volunteered to go with me to check the place out. We took a bag with water and a ray gun Zoey had slipped from her brother and decided to check it out. If there was someone there, we would have backup. Of course we didn't want to kill anyone and I had little training, but it would do.

We got closer to the station and saw a girl carrying out a box of random items. I drew my gun out, but put it by my side. The girl continued to put the box in her car, and when she turned around, she saw us and drew out her gun and I did the same.

"Who are you?" She yelled from our ten feet distance.

"We're nobody's," I said loudly, thinking I remembered the voice, "We just escaped from Battery City. Us and two more. Our car just broke down. Back there, you see?" The girl with the electric blue hair, a t-shirt with a band called "The Used", and ripped jeans looked to our car where Summer and Katelynn stood out of it now.

"I got out of there, too," she said and lowered her gun. I lowered mine.

"Do I know you?" I asked, curiosity getting the better of me.

"I was gonna ask you the same," she said, "In the city I was Hailey."

"That's right," I said and smiled, "You're my best friend. You probably don't remember me but I'm-"

"Yeah. I Remember you," she smiled, "You're Bailey."
