•──⋅☾ Ares ☽⋅──•

I could not believe that I was caught red handed. Only hearing about it from Ezekiel made me stay quiet in order not to get talked too further about what went down. Kayla had told him about what she saw and I didn't hear the end of it after that. I blamed myself to be honest. I couldn't control how bad I wanted the one woman who made me hot. But in all honesty, it was worth it. But not worth listening to Kayla blabber on about how it burned her eyes, saying how she would want to use bleach to forget what she witnessed. She barely even saw anything, so I don't know what she is even complaining about.

I lean into the wall, resting my back against it with my hands crossed over my chest. "You are one hell of a player." Rick goes to joke as I had tried to remain professional, but could not keep a grin from crossing my lips. "I couldn't help myself, man. She has been asking for the past month and waited until we got to see each other again." I mentioned it to him. "It is what it is. Now, you two, get yourselves over to the warehouse. There are things we must discuss." Ezekiel said while I nodded and Rick was goofing off, flicking a pencil at the floor. "Rick." He warns, arching his brow. "Quit messing with the pencils and get your ass out." Ezekiel says this so sternly that I swore I saw Kayla shiver. I burst into fits of laughter as he looked at me too. "Ares. Out." He warns, pointing his finger to the door.

"Aight, aight, sheesh." I made it known that I was leaving the room. "Don't get distracted." I said as Rick followed me down the corridor away from the boss's office. Rick was quiet the entire time and smirked, "I wonder what's up his ass?" in question. While I shook my head and chuckled; "he's just being as he usually is. Up his own ass." I joked. He and I made it down the stairwell and into the main hall. The other guys were already waiting for us. We made our way out of the building. While Ezekiel had already been where we would be meeting, his driver greeted us with a quiet salute. Getting into the car and waiting for all five men to arrive. When we were in. We began heading off to where one of the warehouses that our mafia owned. Looking over and catching Rick keeping focus on either me or the boss. "What?" I asked him and he had a smug grin on his face. "WHAT?" I question him only feeling myself get angry at the fact I knew why he was looking at me like that. "You were getting it on with her." He mentioned this to me like it was an everyday thing. Hint, it was not. "Rick, enough. Leave him be. She's his woman." Ezekiel responded to the conversation between him and I. But we both began to banter about how amazing she looked in any unseemly dress she wore. Even though the boss was getting married, he bantered with us about how it must have looked.

As soon as he mentions her again, my mood shifts. "Aight, I get it. She caught me getting some head." I spoke through a certain tone and he looked over at me. That one look said everything. I smirked when he began talking again, "you're jealous." he said. Everyone was quiet after that. The back seat was now bursting to life with laughter. "You look fucking terrifying when you look at me like that." I admit through my grin. Only ten minutes later we made our way into the warehouse and checked in on our stock. We sell drugs. The kind that makes people come back for more. Raphael, one of the five men, walked over and handed Ezekiel the list that had all the information on it of how many more we have lost. He had the most intense expression on. "Who?" He questioned him and Raphael began to speak. "Velvet Blood." He answered in Russian. Raphael spoke very well when it came to it. Saying how another mafia had been coming in and killing our guys and stealing our wares because we had been enemies with them for often claiming their turf, also known as, their territories.

"Send some of our best to negotiate with their leader. Perhaps we can come to an agreement." Said Ezekiel in response to him, while Raphael agreed and walked through the lanes of the building. Kilmer tossed two packs at me. I lent them to the boss and he took it with no hesitation. His body said it all what he was thinking. "We shall move them all to a better place until we have been given word." He said this so easily, but knowing me he knew what he was doing.

"Second plan. We need to find out who the spy is." Ezekiel spoke with such demand, while every man went on their way to do as ordered. Those who mess with us are dead if they ever think too much when it comes to the Zakharov mafia. They were going to be reminded of what it was like to have a vicious death.

Afterwards, we returned to the mansion. And I see Kayla sitting on the couch in the sitting room talking with someone. I got closer to have a look and saw her speaking with my girlfriend, Elizabeth. They were both smiling and doing that usual thing that most girls do best. Gossip. "Well, well. What a surprise it is to see you two getting along." I said. Elizabeth looked over at me and waved her hand as if for me to come over. When I did, I sat down and she crawled onto my lap, wrapping her arms around my torso. "What are you two girls talking about, huh?" I questioned and Kayla smiled. "We were discussing what I saw earlier." I heard this and rolled my blue orbs, "please. I don't need to hear you talk about that right now. You already told the boss about it." I nagged. She and my girlfriend both burst out giggling. I raised my eyebrow as if to ask a question, but nothing came out.

"Alright, fine. It was fucking funny." I said, embarrassed a bit. Me. Embarrassed. That was fun. Sarcasm was sneaking its way into my brain like it would in a TV show. "It's not funny, it's hilarious." Kayla joked through her laughter. "It's the same thing." I mentioned it to her and she stopped what she was doing. "Fine, fine. I'm sorry I walked out on you two getting it on." She spoke, Ezekiel came in and looked at us all like we were children. "What are you babies talking about?" He asked and she glared over at him. "Excuse you, I am not a baby."

"No, but you are mine." He responded to her complaint. Her face said it all. Crossing her arms and sticking her tongue out at him in a playful manner. "I am no one's baby." She mentions this, while we all burst out in laughter. "Oh please, if anything you definitely are suitable to be his-" I pause before finishing.

"To be 'his' what, Ares? Go on." Ezekiel said, crossing his arms. I was about to say something horrible, and I regret ever thinking of her that way. "I was going to say your slut."

Kayla seemed offended by this mention. Her brows furrow. "You think.. wow." I hear her speak, standing up and fixing her leggings. Making her way out of the sitting room. "Princess, wait." Ezekiel pleads, following her out. But before he did he gave me a hard look. "We are discussing this later. No making your way out of it."

Well. I messed up.

"Princess." I go to speak to be cut short by her yelling at me from over her shoulder. "I am not your fucking slut." She said, the tone of her voice boomed at me from across the hall and I felt myself become stiff in the neck. "Listen. Ares is an idiot. Do not listen to him because you are far more than my slut." I made this known to her as I started explaining, but she wasn't having any of it. "If I'm just going to be just like that to you, then I don't want it."

Kayla crossed her arms and looked away from her. Her lips plump with the way she frowned, glaring over to the side of the hall. "KAYLA." My voice echoed through the hall and he looked at me with her eyes wide. Startled by the sudden change in my voice. "I will not ever call you a slut, baby girl." I said and she just scoffed. "You just did." Moving herself to turn away from me. I gripped her wrist and pulled her into me, glaring at her. But I saw the hurt in her eyes. Realizing that what Ares had said hurt her a lot more than I thought it would. She was fighting back tears. Refusing to show weakness. "I don't need to be reminded of the things that I already know aren't true." Kayla spoke, softly. "Baby girl, I know that it isn't true. You are one beauty to keep. I promise to teach him a lesson."

"Does he hate me that much?" She asked and I looked over to where he was now in the door. "He just has to get used to you being around. Just like I have to." I admit, pulling her into my embrace and caressing her hair. I glared over at Ares with silent anger. If I was going to have him as my second hand, I needed to know I could trust him. It was earned. Not given. Whatever happened at Kayla's previous home, I would not have it here.

I had to make it known to the other men as well.
