"Okay, okay! Loud and clear! I see where you're coming from. Counterpoint, if you go on this mission, I will throw an absolute bitch fit and never forgive you. Thoughts?" Evadine grinned sharply as a preditor, sarcastically waiting for his retaliation.

There was absolutely no way in heaven, hell, of the capitol that she would allow her sweet husband to fuck off on some suicide mission with Katniss Everdeen.

"My love, I have no right to sit on the sideline while others fight for our cause." Finnick tried to console his highly hormonal and desperately clingy wife. She had been hanging off of him since she returned, not that he minded one bit.

He had been equally insufferable so he had no room to speak.

The Capitol was with pods and nightmares, yet Finnick wanted to strut straight into the jaws of the beast.

Plutarch had explained that morning that each pod was a herculean horror crafted by the Gamemakers to slaughter them. Though the rebels secured a Hologram map of the locations of the pods, the "Holo" is a few months old.

Finnick had kissed her head and whispered in her ear as if it were a sweet nothing, welcoming her to the 76th annual Hunger Games. She smacked his arm for the comment before stomping away and breaking down into sobs.

The little fishy was causing havoc on her emotions and the knowledge of Finnicks impending fate was not helping in the slightest.

Boggs was meant to lead a team with Katniss and Peeta. Finnick, the fool that he was decided to volunteer.

"You have fought enough! You can be just as much help to the cause, here with me. You have a beautiful, brilliant mind that you can put to work helping strategize. Or you could use that loving heart of yours to assist in leading and comforting the refugees... I can't lose you, Finn." Evadine whispered, placing a loving kiss on his jaw as he pulled her close.

"Alright... Alright. I love you, Evadine. So much... Why don't you grab your guitar and sing for the kids, you know how they love you. I'm going to take a walk and I'll join you, okay? I love you." Finnick tried to console, but Evadine knew... Finnick Odair was a shit liar.

She smiled fakely at him, hiding the glimmer of rage and mischief as she made her way out of his embrace. Rather than head towards their room, as he asked, Evadine Ripley-Odair decided to go nuclear

After all, if Finnick had no right to sit on the sidelines... neither did she!

She made quick work of swiping an extra rebel uniform, the black a stark contrast to her usual vibrant colors. She slipped on a shirt and chest guard that would fit comfortably over her swollen belly before sliding a few weapons into place.

She felt whole again with a blade at her hip and a gun in her hand.

Long dulled memories of a life before this one, surfaced as she relied on muscle memory to familiarize herself with the feeling of a rifle in her hands.

She silently slipped into the ship with the other crew carrying equipment, but rather than exit with them she ducked behind one of the crates and waited.

She could hear her dorky husband's voice, teasing Katniss a few minutes later. She rolled her eyes every time he gushed about his lovely wife, her ears only perking when Katniss asked, "And Evadine was okay with you coming with us?"

There was a long pause before he finally answered, "I want to create a better world for our baby. She doesn't care about the bigger picture, she just wants me safe."

"She doesn't know you're here. Does she?"

"By now she does. I am in for one hell of a fight when I get back, that's for sure." Finnick's self-deprecating laugh filled the quiet space and she could practically hear the dread in his voice. Finnick and Evadine almost never fought, they usually just talked out their problems and moved on. Finnick hated upsetting her in any way and Evadine was too busy worshipping the ground he walked on to ever find fault with her perfect Finn.

Even the thought of disagreeing made their skin itch.  It felt wrong, unnatural to lie to the other.

When the plane landed they made their way out into the Capitol. The camera's raised they followed Katniss and Bogg as they scanned the terrain. Evadine quickly followed behind, blending into the group as casually as she could.

Peeta glanced over at her in confusion before shaking his head and looking forward again. Thank the plot that Peeta was too mentally unstable to identify what was wrong with her being there.

Her hand mindlessly went to her stomach little fishy started swimming around anxiously.

"What the fuck!" The barked words drew her attention as her gaze flicked to her right where a furious Finnick was snarling at her. His pupils were blown wide in his wrath, his teeth bared, and the vein in his neck throbbing against his rage.

It was poor timing to be so attracted to him, but she had never seen him this angry before and it was intoxicating. She decided she would need to make him angry more often.

"Evadine Ripley-Odair! You idiot! What the fuck were you thinking!" Finnick roared, stomping her way and pulling her as far from the nearest pod as possible. His face only reddened more when she smiled at him.

"Oh hey, Finn! Fancy seeing you here! Well, I just thought I would join you on your walk!" Her smile was downright ferocious as she eyed the area in mock observation, "Interesting location! What do you think of summering here? We'd have to work around the fucking bombs but I think we could make it work."

"This is not the time to be joking, Evadine! You are pregnant and decided to waddle right into an active war zone!" Finnick growled right back. He was not in the mood to play her games. Terror gripped onto his soul as he inched closer to her.

He had endured this feeling far too often in his young life, the terror of losing the love of his life.

There was no point in living in a world without his Evadine. Taking her was like talking away the air, life would wither and die without her.

He shouldn't have lied, he knew that. He should have just told her his decision and dealt with the consequences like a man. But he didn't and now his gorgeous little psycho had followed him into hell with no way back.

"Go home Evadine! They will fly you back. It's not safe here!" Finnick argued, cupping her face as gently as he always had, his voice a strange cocktail of wrath and begging.

"I stay where you are. If you want me safe and sound, you come back with me. That is the deal." She spat right back, gripping onto his wrists as if to hold him in place.

Before he could respond, the hostile air of domesticity was shattered with one resounding-

BOOM!
