Chapter 7

The bell chimed as I entered the bakery. Basking in the delicious scent of baked goods. I was met with a petite woman with the same hair color as Marinette which I presumed to be her mother.

"Welcome to 'Tom and Sabine's Boulangerie Patisserie' what may I get you?" She spoke in such a sweet tone.

"My name is Y/n Im a friend of Marinette's we were supposed to go out today together." I informed with a smile.

"Oh how lovely, My name is Sabine. I thought Marinette already had plans, she was supposed to babysit." She had told me.

"Oh! I had no idea, it's just we made plans and I thought she was free." I was slightly upset she had other plans.

"Don't worry sweetie I'll just call Ms Chamack to tell her we won't be receiving her daughter for the day, you two have fun, she's upstairs with Alya probably getting ready." I smiled at her.

"Thank you Mrs Dupain-Cheng!" I bowed down to her showing my respect. "No problem Ms Y/n" I headed upstairs and knocked on the door. I heard steps approaching from the other side. The door opened.

"Y/n!" I was met with Alya, "Hey!" "Marinette's just searching for her purse and then we'll leave." I nodded and stepped inside, Marinette came rushing downstairs, "Hi Y/n, ooh you look great." "Thanks Marinette. Alya tells me you're looking for your bag, did you find it?" I asked. "No could you help me look please." She said while wandering around the house.

Alya mentioned, "it's pink and it has a flower on it."
"Yup" I said. "By the way your mom said that you were supposed to babysit today?" She practically jumped when she heard me, "No! Is that today? I completely forgot." She groaned. I was quick to say "No don't worry she said she was going to call and cancel, so you're free." She took a deep breath, "oh thank goodness." Her home was beautifully decorated and neat.

"Hey your mom was very sweet to me." I said with my hands behind my back smiling. "Yeah she's like that." She said smiling putting back the pillows she removed from her sofa. "She's pretty cool, is she one of those cool moms that consider's her child's wants?" I asked. "What do you mean?" She asked. "You know like letting you go wherever you want without a guardian around, I'm used to having my brother around everywhere I go." I explained.

"Yes I guess so." " What about you Alya?" She turned around to face me, "Oh, my mom's great, on the other hand my sister is the one who worries and overreacts about everywhere I go." She was near the curtain, and she looked down, "Mari I found your bag!" "Great, let's go!" We headed out, I heard Mrs Dupain-Cheng talking over the phone telling a woman about Marinette's absence. She looked overwhelmed, maybe the other woman was upset. I forgot all about it when I met Adrien's eyes right outside the Cinema building with Nino by his side. The place we decided to hang out, the five of us.

"So I said, Nora I can make my own decisions, and mom already agreed to let me go out with my friends. Of course, she didn't take it well. Probably blowing off steam at the gym." "Don't worry about it Alya I'm sure she'll get over it." Nino said.

All five of us entered the Cinema side by side with Nino and Alya while Adrien and Marinette were right behind us, "Guys Im going to use the bathroom first" Marinette said. "No biggie, we'll wait" Alya said. "Games!" Nino being the child he is raced Alya to the game section in the back, laughing on the way." "Popcorn's on me! K guys!" I shouted.

"Nice" Thanks Y/n!" Nino and Alya thanked me. Adrien joined me, "I'll pay for the drinks" he said. "No that's okay, you don't have to." "No it's fine, look they're cooperating for the tickets, you're paying the popcorn, I should pay for the drinks." I gave in because I didn't want to spend all of the 50 euros Alex loaned me. "Alright, if you must." Alex agreed to give 50 euros each week as long as I didn't spend it all right away. Not that I'd ever tell him.
