So, I debated on weather to place this before or after the charecter fixes but the truth is, the Romance does imensly impact the charecters of Marinette, Adrien, Kagami and Luca and it is the heart and soul of Miraculous.
So, what is wrong with the romance in the original?
Oh where to begin where to begin?
1. Marinette stalks Adrien, kisses Adrien's wax statue, has covered her room with pictures of Adrein, has a wierd collage shrine of him by her bed that she looks at before going to sleep, has memorized Adrien's ad, trampled on Max's dream to spend time iwth Adrien, trampled on Kagami's dream to earn brownie points wih Adrien, Screwed over Chloe becuase she was jelouse of Kagami and Adrein, Interupted Kagami and Adrien's date, Put Kagami in danger by giving her a mirauclous when Hawk Moth knows her identity just so she could get her away from Adrien, uses a fireman to stalk on Adrien and Lila, Puts Kagami in an uncomfortable situation, tries to sabotage Kagami's chances of winning a tournament ebcause she thinks that she will take Adrien from her if she wins, tries to embarace Kagami at a movie premier because she thinsk Kagami is going to kidnap Adrien and take him to Tokyo where he'll have to eat sushi for th rest of his life (okay, that is racist af), Offers Adrien 2 miraculouses, Throws Luka under the bus in front of his idol/estranged father to prop up Adrien, Emotionally cheats on Luka, Leads Lukas, Abuses her superpowers, has prepared gifts for his next 33 birthdays, followed him to A WHOLE DIFFERENT CONTINENT by lying to her parnets and making them pay for the trip, smells Adrien's pillow, has planed a whole future with him, plucks off a strand of Adrien's hair and smells him, leaves children she is responsible for to stalk on adrien, breaks into Adrien's room, steals Adrien's billongings, rumages through Adrien's garbage, keeps track of Adrien's privet schedule, sabotage the Adrien's relationships with other romantic intrests, etc
2. Adrien (Chat Noire) can't take 'no' for an answer, disrespects Ladybug's personal space, keeps flirting with her despite her repeated rejections, is extremly possessive of being her only partner like in the episode Sentibubler, caused that sculpture guy to get acumatized by lying abot his relationship with Ladybug, is a jerk to any superhero who he thinks will get between them like Rena Rouge, Flaremidable (ya he was Felix but Adrien didn't know that) and Scarabella, gets mad at Ladybug for not showing up for their 'date' when she aldready told him that she couldn't make it, give sup his mriaculous because Ladybug is stressed and hence snaps at him,
3. Adrien falls in love with Marinette because she kissed his waxed statue
4. Marinette goes form hating Adrien for being Chloe's friend to 'falling in love' with him in half a day because he gave her an umbrella
5. 95 percent of the time, Ladybug is a jerk to Chat Noire and disrespects him even when she knows and acknowledges that he has insecurities about not being good enough
6. Ladybug uses Chat Noire as a cataclysum weapon and not a partner
7. Marinette dosn't like who Adrien TRULEY is becuase is true self, is Chat Noire, who Marinette finds annoying.
I could go on, but we'd be here all day
But more than the disturbing messages sent and actions condoned by their 'romance', their romance isn't allowed to progress till seaason 5 and even then it never progresses beause Marinette can't say 'i love you' wihout a picture of a cow.
Here's the cold hard truth: THIS IS NOT LOVE!

And here's the rub, THAT'S GREAT FOR A CHILDREN'S SHOW!

At the age Marinette and Adrien are, it is almost a given to be obssed with crushes and romance. Kids often over romantazise 'true love' and don't udnerstand that real, healthy relationships are built on knowing a person and loving them, flaws and all.
