Pacing

I'll be honest, I hate the average-clumsy-get everythung they want beyonde sense or logic everygirl/everyboy protagonist and I rather Marinette just be erased and Adrien or heck, Kagami, subplant her as the main protagonist.

But fine, Astruc, I'll walk with you to this bland, boring, generic pier.

Miraculous has a Steven Universe problem where the story REFUSES to move forward lest the protagonist is present even when they have NOTHING to do with the story.

The best example of this is the episode 'Gabriel Agreste' where the main plot is Felix discovering that Hawk Moth is Gabriel Agreste. A great and intresting premise is RUINED when 60 percent of the runtime is taken up by Marinette brekaing into the soirée (more illegal behaviour from our role model) to prevent Chloe from showing Adrien a stupid video of Marinette and her class (not her friends, the entier ducking class) making plans for Mrinette to FINALLY confess to Adrien, which she obviously does not by the end of the episode.

Why did this subplot with Marinette need to be here?

Why did this stupid thing need to be in a episode titled 'Gabriel Agreste'?

Why did we waste time on the same boring story for the millionth time when we could have seen how Gabriel got the miraculous and how Emilie died?

Why the duck did Marinette have to be in this episode?

Because the writers have put this arbritory restriction on themselves that Marinette/Ladybug HAS to have a MAJOR role in EVERY SINGLE EPISODE.

I know you guys are tierd of me using Starlight Blaze as a comparison, So let's take Avatar instead.

If ATLA had this stupid rule where Aang always has to be the central focus of an episode, fan favourate episodes like the southern raiders, zuko alone, the boiling rock, the beach, sokka's master, the runaway,  most of tales of Ba Sing Se and most of Sozin's comet wouldn't have happened.

Where Miraculous truly shines is its charecters. It has such a wide, diverse and colourful cast of intresting charecters and we are STUCK watching Marinette endlessly pine for Adrien.

So, this change is simple. Yes, as the protagonist, Marinette can be the central focus of most episodes BUT charecters like Gabriel, Nathalie, Felix, Lila, Alya, Chloe, Luka, Kagami and most of all Adrien NEED solo episodes that DO NOT feature Marinette hogging the spotlight.

Charecter Development

Marinette would start the show off the show as someone who deeply struggles with self-confidence and self-esteem, being extremly insecure, nervous, eager to please, very impressionable, hyperactive, scatterbrained but NOT clumsy because that is not cute, it's just annoying and makes me wonder if she has a brain tumor.

Also, I wouldn't make it so that once she transforms she magically becomes hyperocnfident and badass, not in the begining atleast.

She would have bursts of courage and inspirational moments like in the origins episode and her comming up with a plan to use her lucky charm, but that would be surrounded by her basically messing everything else up because she has no clue what she is doing.

On the inside, hwoever, Marinette is a total oddball, being into fashion and Jagget Stone, being creative and a genuinly kind and sencier person who never gets to show these qualities when she is just Marinette because of her insecurity.

In a flashback, we learn that this insecurity stems form being bullied by Chloe as a kid. As a kid, Marinette was  happy, spontanious, shamelessly creative and nerdy but was bullied for that and her 'small' eyes, leading her to becoming the akward, nervous, wierdo we know her as today.
