Life in a book was much different than real life.

Jeonghan knew that, neither because he was some extremely keen reader having obsession over books and nor because he was some author of any famous novel as well. In fact, if Jeonghan wasn't lying, the last time he tried to pick up a pen to write something and felt the need to read a book for knowledge or fun was back in his first year of University.

Which was about five years ago from today, the day where he is playing his part as a love interest of the protagonist of a novel, a novel he was living in right now.

How did he get himself into this problem, Jeonghan honestly doesn't understand. One day he was walking through the empty street which always led him towards his dorm, and the next day he was trapped in a book, given a part to play.

And then another.

Then another.

Jeonghan just kept traveling from one novel to other, playing his part, trying to fill his bucket of points so he could return back home and resume his life. But it was hard, frankly much harder than Jeonghan had expected.

Cause here, no one beside him understands the fact that this world is not real. That as the main characters get their happy ending, the book will close, so will their life.

And in this book, the happy ending that they were talking about was related to Jeonghan himself, the prince of south who had visited the prince of north on the occasion of his birthday, and as what story says, Jeonghan was supposed fall in love with him in this process and get their happily ever after.

It basically wasn't this simple. Because the stupid antagonist, Choi Seungcheol, keeps kidnapping Jeonghan in the name of ‘using their weakness against them’ because he knows the prince is in love with Jeonghan, his love interest, and Choi is just crazy.

Crazy and fucking handsome.

When the first time Jeonghan was kidnapped by him, it was only then he had seen Choi Seungcheol in person. Before that day, the mention of Choi Seungcheol was only heard by the gossip going around the kingdom and the novel that he had already read to play his part for a thousand times.

And all that he acquired back then was the fact that Choi Seungcheol was ruthless, cold, psychopathic and a total asshole. Well, the novel described him as that, and a person who wants to kill the prince and conquer the kingdom by making his love interest hostage, Jeonghan didn't know what to make of it other than the fact that he indeed was what it was described as.

But why did no one tell him Choi Seungcheol was handsome?

Like that handsome.

When the prince got Jeonghan back, well, he still didn't confess to him even then as the novel told he was trying to figure out his feelings for Jeonghan, while the antagonist already knows it, Jeonghan found himself sitting by his window and thinking about how such a strong persona filled with potential to be left with the job of playing prince was probably forced to become the villain.

And it was the first time in Jeonghan's life when he felt bad when he thought about the tragic death that was written in Seungcheol's fate.

Such a face was supposed to be preserved, it was supposed to be taken care of, offered all the love, treasured even, but the inevitable was always ready to bring a sad smile on Jeonghan's face.

Only if Choi was the prince instead of that stupid protagonist who was taking forever to realize a small fucking thing-

But a protagonist or not, it was a good thing that Jeonghan got to see Seungcheol even after that. The attempts to kill Jeonghan, or simply abduct him for that process were never delayed, it came one after another, giving Jeonghan the wide opportunity to spend weeks with his enemy.
