Being the head boy of the school always had its own perks if you'll ask Seungcheol.
Seungcheol knew many people would disagree with that fact, that being head boy was the most boring, fun lacking job that no student would like to claim but still many would die to have. Seungcheol's case though differed here. When he was chosen as the head boy, he really had no opinions about whether or not he wanted that position and the badge resting on his jacket.
But within a few weeks, Seungcheol started to recognise the perks of that position.
No, he didn't go around rebelling against the school rules and trying to do everything that was forbidden. Seungcheol was never a student of that kind, he was simple, his morals high, his dignity unaltering, teachers liked him too. Maybe that was the reason he was gracefully handed that position.
But if he were to leave that part, what made him not feel the dislike towards his job was the fact that he had an authority in his hands, that he can have his own little slips, the little fun where he was informed about every gossip without even trying. Seungcheol loved the face he gets to see of students when he hands them their detention slips, where he suddenly gets to be the hyung of someone unknown, where people try to have their way with him.
Seungcheol loved all that.
Until he met Yoon Jeonghan.
“Yoon Jeonghan!” The head boy yells the name like it was the default setting in his brain, and the next second, he grabs the bag of the boy trying to climb up the fence of school and pulls him down on the floor.
The boy falls on his butt and the groan he let out was loud enough to tell Seungcheol that the landing was hard, “Not again, please-”
“Are you crazy?!” Seungcheol was sure this was Jeonghan's fifth time trying to jump off school fence- no, it was sixth- he doesn't even remember the count at this point, “You are trying to skip school again, aren't you?!”
Jeonghan chuckles, the fringes of his black hair falling on his forehead as he brushes it off and stands up to show Seungcheol his eyes blinding smile, “No, I was just trying to see how high this fence is. See, it's not that high.” And then he pulls Seungcheol to make him look at that not so high fence, “I am sure if you'll try, you can jump off with me too.”
Seungcheol teeth grits.
This was Yoon Jeonghan, the bane of Seungcheol's existence.
The boy Seungcheol's hands were grabbing the bag off was his classmate, the one who suddenly appeared out of thin air after the week Seungcheol was handed the badge of the head boy. The first time Seungcheol got hold of Jeonghan, it was when Jeonghan had toppled over a box full of ink on the exam papers and tried to run away.
One was that time, and one was of now, and unfortunate to say Seungcheol was present in each of Jeonghan's big and small mischief, and honestly, he doesn't know how when Jeonghan does something, he was always there, present, trying to stop him from getting out of his hands, and then ending up handing him a detention slip.
Half of Seungcheol's detention slips were used by Jeonghan at this point.
And there he was again, tugging on Seungcheol's sleeves, trying to pursue him by batting his eyelashes in a way he knows he looks pretty while doing, “We are classmates Seungcheol, you'll be considerate towards me, right?”
No, Seungcheol wasn't going to be.
It was surprising for Jeonghan when Seungcheol pushes the detention slip towards his forehead, it wasn't strange for Seungcheol when Jeonghan giggled loudly at it, and it wasn't weird for both of them to go to their way, Seungcheol to office, Jeonghan to the detention room where he knew Seungcheol was going to accompany him in the end.
