Lock had just come back to his room from a 'talk' with Boogie. The talk was usual, Boogie telling Lock he'll be left alone. Shock would leave to be a witch, Barrel would leave to join Belladonna's gang. Lock was starting to believe it.. He was an imp and imp's are usually alone, no friends, no family, no lover.. Lock just sat on the floor, back against the wall, hugging his knees. Lost in his own thoughts, he knows that if he starts distancing himself from Shock and Barrel, it won't hurt as bad when they leave. But then again they would be concerned for him if he distances himself. Lock sighed, he knew that battling his thoughts would be no use since they almost always win. He just sat there looking at the ground, mind racing with so many thoughts that he didn't even notice his door opening.
Barrel had knocked on Lock's bedroom door but there was no answer. Barrel slowly opened the door and peeked into the room. "Lock?" The room was dark, but the moonlight helped him see the figures of the objects in the room. Although, the faint light had made Lock's pale skin more visible. Lock was too zoned out to notice Barrel was standing in the doorway.
Lock snapped back into reality when Barrel touched his shoulder. He hadn't realized he was crying. "Lock, are you okay?.." Barrel asked. Lock just looked at him, not knowing if he should tell Barrel the battle in his mind or not. Barrel gently holds the sides of Lock's face, making Lock look at him. "Lock.. Please tell me what's going on.. I want to help you.." Lock just looks at Barrel, a blank look but there's a hint of vulnerability in his eyes. "You know you can trust me.."
Barrel sits down next to Lock and holds him close. "You don't have to tell me right away, just know I'm here for you.. I will always be.." Barrel keeps Lock close. Lock sniffles and looks down not wanting Barrel to see him crying more. "Hey.. You can let it all out.. I won't judge you.." Lock sniffles again and lets out a sob. Barrel just holds Lock close, making no attempt to calm Lock down because he knows he can't hold it in all the time.
An hour of Lock sobbing passes slowly, he ended up exhausting himself out enough to fall asleep against Barrel. Smiling softly, Barrel gently kisses Lock's forehead. Carefully standing up holding Lock close, trying not to move him too much so he doesn't wake up. Barrel slowly moves to the bed and carefully lays down on the bed so Lock is laying down next to him.
Lock snuggles up into Barrel in his sleep, his eyes slightly red and puffy from crying beforehand. Barrel wraps his arm around Lock's shoulders holding him close, so Lock's head is resting on his chest. Lock unconsciously puts his hand on Barrel's chest. Barrel reaches over to grab a blanket, careful not to jostle him too much. Grabbing the blanket, he carefully drapes it over both of them and closes his eyes. Barrel slowly falls asleep holding Lock close in his sleep, not wanting to let him go.
