Soomin's mind was becoming distorted.
She was being escorted out of the room by a group of girls that called themselves gungnyeo. They mentioned something about her daily task to fulfill, but Soomin paid no mind to that, rather she focused taking in everything she could about this place she had been held hostage. If she ever grasp the chance of escaping, she should at least be well informed about every nook and cranny and about it's security.
The first thing she noticed was that the palace stood grandiose atop the hill, it's tiled roof glistening like the ruby gem in the sunlight. The air was thick with the scent of incense and the soft chirping of birds could be heard in the far distance.
Soomin sighed. A hill would totally make it hard to escape, but she didn't plan on giving up so easily.
She huffed, her strides longs and lacked poise- the princess would never walk that way. She had been taught all her life how to walk like a lady. Maintaining balance and grace with fragile objects on her head.
The next thing she noticed was the jeongjeon; the main hall was a masterpiece of traditional architecture. The wooden beams and columns were adorned with intricate cravings of dragons and phoenix- a symbol which had had noticed in quite a lot of places.- the walls were painted with murals depicting scenes of ancient mythology.
Soomin was beginning to feel very small in the huge, fancy prison. The place dripped wealth and class, and felt like even the little statue was worth her soul.
How did she get here?
Was it some sort of historical movie?
The black haired craned her neck, gazing at the high walls, each holding a guard tower at every intervals- well armed men with mean frowns on her faces at every post imaginable.
It was at the moment Soomin realized that if she had a shot at escaping here, she needed a well thought out plan.
"Embroidery?" Soomin yelled.
The lady opposite her nodded, a light dip.
Exasperated, Soomin glared at the other girls who passed confused glances at themselves. There were six girls in total, herself included. And from the little whispers that had whisped through the air- call it gossip- she knew they were peace treaty bonus from her kingdom and some from another nearby.
It finally dawned on her that she was a supposed a concubine.
"I don't do embroidery," Soomin turned to the lady, a smug look on her face. "I don't want some needle pricking my fingers. That's why we have machines to do that."
Literal question marks appeared on everyone's head, the lady being the first to dust it off. "gongjudeul are expected to be skilled in needlework and spend hours perfecting sewing clothing and textiles," she put out.
Soomin groaned, begrudgingly taking a seat.
