To my dear unknow person.

Another day and my eyes search for another face to weave a new story to predict whether my story in true or just figment of my imagination?

I hope my messages reach you and you can row with the weaves of my high thoughts.

"Coffee cups"

The waiter placed the cups on the table, and my eyes fell on his injured nails, which he seemed to bite a lot due to his constant feeling of tension. But what caught my attention was the bracelet wrapped around his wrist, bearing a medallion with a picture of a young girl on it. I looked again at the waiter's face, who seemed to be in his late forties, and despite those marks, he smiled at me as if he knew me.

Is the deceased his wife?

No, he doesn't wear it. Whoever loses his wife keeps wearing his ring. Did the couple separate? I don't know, because each of us has his own marriage customs that others don't understand.

So she's his daughter.

All he had was Dalia, the only child of Jasper and Yara. Jasper worked in one of the most famous cafes in Cairo, and Yara worked as an art teacher at Dalia's high school.

"Of course I will come with you to visit her, I will go now to buy flowers, you just have to wear an outfit you like so that day will be special"

He spoke to his wife or ex-wife, I cannot determine his life despite drinking my fifth sip coffee, my eyes returned to watching Jasper's actions, clinging to the ropes of happiness despite his eyes screaming with loneliness and loss.

"You won't teach me how to dress and how to act. Dalia has always loved every detail of my love for you, You weren't there for her when she went through all those psychological shocks"

The sound of her screaming on the phone made him close his eyes, allowing his tears to fall on his cheeks so he wouldn't burst into tears in front of the workers.

"Please don't make things worse, it's enough that I can't sleep every day, it's enough that I didn't tell her I was sorry so I could rest she left"

"Even is she hears your apology, she won't leave you alone. Thank her for letting you suffer. Even after three years, you will always be drowning in regret, waiting for someone to save you, but you will continue to drown until death"

Her screams got louder until he hung up the phone, talking a deep breath until he turned to the head waiter and said:

"Sir, I have to leave. Today, as you know, I have to visit Dalia"

"It's okay, go"

He patted him on the shoulder as he took off his cafe uniform and ran away.

"So shall we go see if your imagination is right or wrong?"

My reverie was interrupted by Sofia's question as she looked at me with a calm smile as I tried to focus on what she said.

"Yes'

She muttered as I got up to follow her, and with quiet steps we headed toward the head waiter. They both talked far away, while I stayed a few steps away from them until I heard him.

"His daughter Dalia passed away after suffering from lung cancer when she was in her final year of high school. She was loved by everyone, but after her death, her mother couldn't comprehend the shock, which made Jasper put her in a mental hospital. Every year, he goes to take her to visit their daughter"

My eyes filled with tears for no reason I don't know. I didn't expect tragic story that my imagination had created to be so painfully real.

"May the Lord be with him and his wife"

Sofia finished talking to the head waiter and approached me. I motioned with my hand for her not to talk and she held my hand as we went back home.

I don't know what my message to you is today, dear unknow, because I feel like I've lost something but I don't know what is it?

Is it you and my mind doesn't remember you, or something like a son or daughter?

Something has invaded my heart. I wish you were by my side to calm me down. No one can feel what is inside you except who love you, and no one can get you out of your dark room except their word that illuminate that deadly darkness?

Your beloved May.
