*Teddy's POV*

I walked out of Wilson's office with fake confidence. Honestly, Wilson made me melt. He was so charming and adorable, there was no way I could keep up this "playing hard to get" game any longer.

I walked into my office to find Mrs. Fox waiting for me. A nurse must have let her in, I made a mental note to remind the nurses to leave my patients outside my office when I wasn't there.

"Hello Mrs. Fox, how are you this morning?" I tried to act as if it was another day, but of course it wasn't.

Mrs. Fox was diagnosed with a grade III brain tumor near her pituitary gland about 6 months ago. She came in with headaches and vision problems and, like any hypochondriac, thought it was brain cancer. The clinic doctor she came to see decided it was just old age and sent her home. She was 65, but even then I would have at least done a full neurological work-up. Luckily I was her doctor when she came in the second time and became worried when she said that her headaches were consistent. I admitted her and got her an MRI and found the tumor. Over the next few months she received chemo and radiation and tumor didn't seem to be growing, which was a good sign. When she was diagnosed she only had about a 20 percent chance of making it 5 years, if she pulled through, we might beat the cancer all together.

"I'm doing well doctor, thank you. And by the way, please call me Lucy. Mrs. Fox makes me feel so old." She smiled as I chuckled.

Over the past 6 months, Lucy and I had gotten to get to know each other. She knew about my crush on Wilson and all of the gossip between the people on House's team. She had become a good friend.

The rest of the appointment went the same as any other follow up. I asked her if she was having any serious side effects to the chemo (besides vomiting and fatigue) and went over her schedule for the rest of the month.

I opened the door for her as she got up to leave, but before she walked out the door she leaned close and whispered, "So how are things going on with that cute doctor you told me about?"

I blushed and leaned in close to her and replied, "He's taking me out to dinner and a show tomorrow night." I leaned back and she brought her hand to her lips and looked surprised. I chuckled and she shuffled away towards the elevator, turning back to give me a wave before she got on.

I smiled and went back inside my office and started shuffling paper work. A couple hours passed and I looked at the clock, 1 o'clock, I figured I'd head down to the cafeteria to get some lunch.

__

I walked into the cafeteria and was surprised to see that the line wasn't as long as it usually was, I checked my watch to confirm the time 1:05...strange but carried on like it was nothing. I walked up to the line, grabbed a salad and some dressing and headed to the cash register. I was about to give the cashier the $3.71 for my meal when a deep voice behind me stated "Put it on Doctor Wilson's tab." I looked back to find a tall, grey haired, bearded man standing...no...Looming over me at the cash register. "Mines as well." He stated as he picked up his bagel and shuffled me to one of the booths on the other side of the cafeteria.

Once we had sat down, all I could do was stare at this strange man, this was the legendary House? The man that I only heard stories about? Stories how he drove Cuddy nuts and broke almost every rule there was just to get a rise out of someone? For some reason, he was not what I was expecting.

"So you and Wilson huh?" I was taken aback by his statement. Me and Wilson what? It wasn't like we had done anything, heck, we hadn't even gone on our first date? Why did he want to know what was happening between us when there wasn't really anything happening at all?

"Excuse me?" was all I could choke out, he may have not looked or seemed like the legend he was built up to be, but he was still intimidating.

"Sorry, that was rude." He waited a beat, "So you and Wilson have had sex right? Because if you had...why are you still around?" I sat back, embarrassed by his question and offended by his reasoning. But, I didn't let it show. I thought that the best way to resolve his curiosity was to tell him outright, he was in for a disappointment if he was getting ready for a certain answer.

"No." I told him, "We have not had sex. We are going on a date tomorrow night. If you want more details, why don't you ask him?" with that I grabbed my salad and got to leave I was almost out of the door when I heard a tender voice behind me once again. "Teddy?"

I turned to find Wilson, in his adorable lavender shirt standing in line, smiling at me.

"Hello Wilson," I walked up to him, mirroring the smile he was giving me.

"How has your day been?" he asked.

"It has been lovely so far, I got to meet your friend today, Dr. House." I pointed over to booth where House is still sitting. He sees me pointing and gives Wilson and me a big, sarcastic wave.

"Oh no." Wilson sighed, "I'm so sorry." He seems generally worried, like House ruined every chance that we had together.

"Don't worry about it." I touch his arm as assurance and see the fear leave his eyes, "You cant scare me away that easy." I winked at him before I turned and walk out of the cafeteria with fake confidence again. Maybe I've been doing it so much its turning into real confidence. I think as I walk to elevator to go have lunch in my office.
