1998 marked a significant turning point in Poland, which historically struggled to find stability without external powers vying for control. After the devastation of World War II, Poland was too focused on recovering from its war scars to dedicate sufficient attention to rebuilding its governance and society. Then, the Cold War emerged, tightening its grip on the nation.

For two decades, the Soviet Union maintained a stranglehold on Poland. However, by the 1980s, it appeared that this grip was loosening. Poland and many neighboring countries began to fight for independence from Soviet oppression. After five arduous years of struggle, Poland finally achieved freedom. During those years, rumors circulated about the impending collapse of the Soviet Union, but these proved unfounded. Instead, a coup occurred, allowing the Soviet government to prevent its downfall and reignite renewed enthusiasm.

The moment Soviet tanks crossed the Polish border sealed the country's fate, triggering a chain reaction that would reverberate around the globe. The United States, under its newly elected president, quickly responded by deploying airstrikes to slow the Soviet advance, demonstrating its commitment to intervention. This action ignited a ripple effect, leading to conflicts erupting in various countries and throwing the world into chaos.

The Soviets were engaged on multiple fronts but had numerous allies willing to support them. One of these allies, Syria, used chemical weapons against Israel in an attempt to gain an advantage. Israel, desperate for assistance, called upon the U.S. for help. However, with American forces preoccupied with Europe and Africa, aid could not be provided in time. In a dramatic move, Israel launched a nuclear strike against Syrian forces, which set off a catastrophic series of events: atomic war.

Countries, including the Soviet Union, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, and others, unleashed nuclear weapons in a conflict that teetered on the brink of destruction. World War III had begun. As years passed, the fighting continued without resolution, and by 2020, the world as we knew it underwent drastic and irreversible change.
