RIYEON WAS SOBBING on the playground.

She didn't even have the strength to keep walking home, so she just made it to the nearest playground, sat on the swing set, and began to cry.

The world seemed so bleak and void of color, even though spring was just beginning and the trees were blooming everywhere with colorful flowers.

"I can't believe SM just cut me..." she muttered to herself between tears.

She would forever mark the date March 5, 2009 as the date she was cut from SM's newest girl group, f(x).

She was so close to debut, just a mere 6 months.

And now, her dreams had gone down the drain.

How would she face her parents now? Tell them that the three years she had spent training had been for nothing?

"Little girl, why are you crying?"

Riyeon looked up and saw a blurry figure of a woman offering her a tissue. She grabbed the tissue and dabbed her eyes, shaking her head.

"I'm fine."

"No, you're not fine," the woman said, placing more tissues in Riyeon's hands. "What's wrong? Why do you cry?"

And Riyeon just caved, telling the woman everything.

Riyeon sniffled, "I'm a trainee...I was a trainee..."

"A trainee!" the woman said. "At which company?"

She hesitated, before sighing. "SM...and I was supposed to debut in their new girl group. But I got cut from the lineup today."

"Oh no!" the woman exclaimed, patting Riyeon's shoulder. "It's okay! You're young, there will surely be other opportunities to debut."

Riyeon shook her head. "I don't think so. My contract ended today anyway, so I'd have to audition again to other companies if I wanted to become a trainee."

"How did you audition to SM Entertainment?" the woman asked her.

"The Saturday auditions."

"My goodness, you're talented!" the woman said. "Those are incredibly difficult to pass. You will surely get into whichever company you desire."

Riyeon laughed bitterly. "I don't think I'd get into JYP or YG. Their styles are so different, I don't think I'd make a good fit."

"I don't know about JYP," the woman said, staring at the blooming trees. "But I think YG might accept you if you pass their audition."

Riyeon looked up. She saw that the woman was offering her something again. But, instead of tissues, it was a white card...with the YG logo on it.

She snatched the card from the woman, reading it thoroughly. There was no way this woman was from YG, it had to be a scam.

But then she read the address and her eyes widened.

It was YG. She was from A&R.

The woman stood up and made her way over the the bench. She placed her bag down and began to take out a camera and a portable radio.

Riyeon followed behind her, hands shaking. "D-Do I have to call? Do I go to the building...?"

"I'm afraid the audition would have to happen now," the woman said, grabbing the camera and sitting down.

"B-But here? In such an informal place?" Riyeon questioned. "And I've been crying so my voice might-"

"Do you want to audition or not?" the woman asked bluntly, raising an eyebrow.
