Chapter 13
It was a sunny day when Kim and Tom headed to her mother Kris Jenner's house, where a big family lunch awaited. Kim felt a mix of nervousness and excitement as she sat next to Tom. They had already shared important moments together, and after winning the approval of her children, she knew that this was the moment to officially integrate Tom into the heart of her family.
When she arrived, Kim took a deep breath and gave an encouraging look to Tom, who was impeccably dressed. He carried a bouquet of flowers for Kris and, with his polite manner, seemed completely calm—a striking contrast to Kim's anxiety.
As soon as they entered, Kris greeted them at the door with a warm and curious smile. She hugged her daughter and then cast a delighted look at Tom.
"And this is the famous Tom!" Kris smiled, accepting the bouquet with enthusiasm. "Kim, you didn't exaggerate! He really is a piece of crap."
Tom laughed, a little embarrassed, but responded with sympathy.
— Thank you so much for the invitation, Kris. It's a pleasure to finally meet you and Kim's entire family.
Next to Kris, Kendall and Kylie looked at each other and held back their laughter. Kendall didn't miss the chance to joke:
— Kim finally brought "Mr. 007" into the family. I have to admit, you're really charming, Tom.
Kim rolled her eyes, while Tom smiled, already familiar with her sisters' humor.
— Hey, hey, leave my boyfriend alone! — Kim said, giving her sisters a light push. — You've had enough fun talking about him behind my back, now that we're together, try to be nice, okay?
— We'll try... — Khloe said, laughing and giving Tom an amused look. — But it's hard. He's practically a real-life spy. That's fascinating!
Kris led them to the outside area, where a table was set for lunch. Kourtney and her children were already there, and as soon as Tom showed up, he quickly caught the attention of Kim's nephews. The conversation remained light as everyone sat down and lunch began to be served.
During the meal, the sisters began asking Tom questions, clearly curious about his past.
"So, Tom, Kim told us that you were in the SAS, then MI5, and finally MI6," Kourtney began. "Is that like being... I don't know, a real-life 'James Bond'?"
Tom chuckled softly, amused by the comparison.
"I can assure you that real life is a little less glamorous than the movies, but the comparison does make sense," he replied with a smile. "Working for the British government has given me many unique experiences, and some of them were quite intense."
Kylie, always direct, leaned forward and asked:
"What was the most dangerous place you've been? Is there a country that really scared you?"
Tom thought for a moment before answering.
"It's hard to pick just one. Overall, some places in the Middle East and Central Asia were challenging, but the danger was greater than what we were doing there. When you're on intelligence missions, it's not the country itself that scares you, but the specific situations."
Everyone was hanging on every word. Even the children were impressed, especially when Tom mentioned that he had had to learn several languages to be able to blend in with different cultures. He spoke lightly, without going into details, but the way he described his adventures fascinated everyone.
Kim looked at her sisters and smiled, proud of how he was connecting with each of them.
As the conversation continued, Corey, Kris's partner, commented:
