i woke up from my sleep, the sun blinding me through the open window. the weather was cold, but it was getting more hotter towards the upcoming month. i scrunch my eyes, gaining clear vision. i look around my room, feeling like i have been sleeping for a few months. i spot my guitar right across my bed, laying there in the exact position i placed it last night.

i made plans to meet my friends today — i had to tell them the exciting news and obviously, let them know that i won't be around for the next 7 months or so. it would be a goodbye, but a temporary one — and it would be exciting on my part.

i push open the tall glass door, making the huge wooden sign on the door crinkle against the glass material. the small, cozy cafe is filled with customers, a short line in front of the cash desk. i look around and spot my friends sitting around a small table as they chat and quietly argue with each other. typical them.

"oh Moon you're here!" Hyun exclaims as he waves his hand to welcome me to the table. everyone else notices me and welcomes me, the atmosphere getting warmer by the minute.
i approach the table and take a seat, everyone's attention focused on me.

"how are you doing Moon?" Sophia asked me while she shows a bright smile.
"i watched the stage yesterday, you were amazing" Hyun pats me on the shoulder as the other girls sitting at the table smile at me.

"thank you" i exclaim, not used to a lot of attention all at once.

i told them to meet up here, today, for the sake of my good news. and now we were all sitting together, as they are all stared at me in suspense waiting for me to tell them what these "good news" were.

"well.. yesterday i got a huge offer" i look down at my lap, "to perform with enhypen".

i look up to see their faces and their reactions to this sudden information, and all i can see now is a bunch of faces syncing together — all of their mouths dropped open, eyes widened and no words left.

it was normal of them to react to this big of an opportunity that randomly came my way on an ordinary tuesday.

"Moon.. that's like totally amazing. you basically made it already." Minji tells me while the corners of her mouth form into a big smile.
"THE enhypen? girl that's amazing" Hyun excitedly jumps from his place.

"the tour will last about 7 months.. worldwide. from here, all the way to North America." i tell them, "so i won't be here for the next few months with you guys." my smile drops as i talk to them, observing their faces.

"you get to tour with 7 hot guys, get free travel around the world and you do what you love? i would have abandoned everything right away" Sophia laughs, as the others nod and laugh along with her.

"well, jokes aside Moon, we are incredibly proud of you." Minji raises her cup of coffee and proceeds to do a "cheers" motion while inviting everyone else's cups into the act.

as our cups clink together, i can't help but smile to myself. although i never really had a family, they were the ones that truly felt like family.
i knew them since high school, and even though we all went quite different ways, we all stuck together.
