I opened my eyes as my alarm rung loudly.
I remembered it was the weekend, so as usual, I just turned towards my phone and turned off the alarm. I turned again on my back and laid there, staring at my ceiling, clutching my blanket, which was protecting me from the cold air in my room. After a bit, I took a deep breath and took off my blanket. I first put my legs down out of my bed and onto the ground. It was cold as well, but I finally stood up and slowly walked over to where my cat was sleeping and gently patted her head, all for her cute purr.
I changed my clothes to straight, dark jeans, a brown long-sleeved shirt, a pink shirt over it, and a lavender rain jacket. Today was going to be a foggy day, but I didn't want to be wet for any chance of rain. I was going to visit my friend, Jennie, which I had met 5 months ago. We were going to explore this abandoned hotel near my grandmother's house, for fun. We often liked to explore things we shouldn't because that was a part of the fun.
Lastly, I put on my watch and pulled out my brown leather satchel. I begin by going into my kitchen, searching for some food and water I could bring.
"Sadie, what're you doing this time?" my older sister asked me as I opened the fridge door.
"I'm just looking for supplies we could bring on me and Jenna's adventure this time. What're you doing here?" I replied back, I already had grabbed 2 water bottles from the fridge and I was now looking for snacks in the cabinets over the stove. I kept glancing up at my older sister's phone, which was showing a teen boy with fluffy light brown hair. It was probably one of her friends, which I didn't really care for at all.
"I bet you've been standing here for like, three hours now, talking to whoever that is." I commented, already my hands full with the water bottles and snacks.
"No I have not!" Daisy said, a little taken aback, holding the phone a bit tighter this time. "You know, you can go now." she said once more. I could tell that she was annoyed by my presence already. Well, that gave me a reason I could leave the kitchen, which I did.

I ran a little to my room, still holding the items. I zipped open my satchel, and put the items in their designated places. Last year, my dad had given me a large flashlight, which was always useful for my explorations, so I packed it in there too. I stuffed in a few more items, and then it came to my maroon journal that I had always brought to every little escapade I had hosted. It was dear to me. So as usual, I put it in a special and secret compartment in my bag.
I hoisted the handle up to my shoulder and put on my lucky socks that were covered in purple polka dots, my favorite color. I loved purple so much it was practically the color of my room. I was certain that everybody knew that in my school, hence I wore it every day, and it was the color of my backpack. Alright, I can stop talking about it now.
By the time I was done packing, I received a text from Jennie. 'Hey, I'm ready. Where we meeting up at?' She didn't really pay attention to grammar in her text as much as I did.
'I told you, didn't I? We're meeting up at Porkie John's, remember?' I texted back. I turned my phone off. It had a purple casing, of course. But I put it in the pocket of my rain jacket, I knew I wouldn't lose it since the jacket's pocket had zippers. Pretty cool, right?
Later, I walked out of my room and put my shoes on. They were a bit dirty, but who cares anyways? I clutched the satchel's handle which was on my shoulder, adjusting it a bit, it was kinda heavy.
"Daisy? Daisy? Can you drop me off at Porkie John's real quick?" I yelled, all while barging into her room. She was putting her makeup on, sitting at the new, white vanity our mom had given her for her birthday.
"Why? Also, you should knock first, y'know." she replied back sarcastically, turning around and rolling her eyes at me. I noticed that she still was on the call with that person!
"To meet my friend." I said, ignoring her second sentence. "Also, who's that on the call? You've been talking for so long now!" I exclaimed. She was always on calls wherever she was. She never seemed to be quiet, especially when it's dinnertime.
"No one." she answered back, turning back to her makeup and talk session. I still didn't have an answer, so I asked her again.
"Will you please take me to Porkie John's Daisy?" I pleaded, it was always so hard to get a simple answer from her, that was always how tennagers acted, and I hated that. But, otherwise, I am a 13 year-old, so I can't really say anything.
"Fine, ugh." she had totally exaggerated the 'fine'. I've always wondered if she ever felt embarrassed when she acted like that. But at least I got an impossible answer that I liked!
