finding out that you're pregnant

"Y/N, baby? Are you alright in there?" You heard Sabrina ask as she knocked on the bathroom door.

This is not how you expected your morning to begin.

You woke up about twenty minutes ago with terrible nausea and struggled to get out of bed without disturbing her as she slept in the hotel bed beside you.

Somehow she didn't wake up from you getting out of bed nor did the sound of your gagging and coughing disturb her.

Instead, she woke up to the sun in her eyes and you not being there to hold onto her when she turned over to try and block out the sunlight.

"I'm fine. I'll be out in a minute."

She could hear it in your voice though - you weren't fine.

"Baby, can I come in?"

You flushed the toilet before getting up to open the door.

Sabrina's beautiful eyes were full of worry the second she saw you.

"What's the matter?" She asked as she stepped into the bathroom.

"I've been throwing up."

"Are you sick?" She asked in concern before putting her hand on your forehead.

That was a possibility since you're traveling with Sabrina as she finishes up the last few shows on her tour.

But there was a voice in your head saying that wasn't the case.

Because you know what today is.

You and Sabrina recently did another round of IVF after a couple of failed attempts.

Today is the day you're supposed to test to see if it was successful.

"I don't think so." You replied and gently took her hand just as she was about to place it on your forehead.

You walked out of the bathroom and across the room to grab your suitcase.

Sabrina followed you out and you spun around to face her as soon as you grabbed one of the pregnancy tests from your bag.

"I forgot that it's today!" She gasped and rushed to you, the excitement and hope she felt very obvious because you saw it in her eyes. "Do you think it worked?"

"Maybe... I think so. I've never been sick like this after a round of IVF so... maybe. It could be the stomach flu or something but-"

"But it could also be a baby."

"Yeah." You said before taking in a shaky breath, your heart racing. "I don't want to get my hopes up in case it's negative again but I think I should take this right now."

"Okay." She smiled. "Whatever happens, happens. Whatever the result is, we'll be alright."

She kissed your cheek softly before watching you nod and send her a thankful smile before you went into the bathroom.

Sabrina sat on the edge of the hotel bed and anxiously bounced her knee until you came out of the bathroom a moment later.

"We have to wait a few."

This was always the hardest part; the waiting.

Waiting for the results always makes your stomach turn.

You and Sabrina have been wanting a baby for a while now, especially since you tied the knot a few months ago.

You've tried and tried to get pregnant but it just doesn't seem to be working.

All of the tests keep coming back negative, making you both feel hopeless and miserable.

But you and Sabrina are determined for this to happen and you've both agreed that you'll keep trying until it happens.

Sabrina kissed your head as you put it on her shoulder and her arms wrapped around you to comfort you.

You began to bounce your knee anxiously as well and Sabrina could feel her heart racing against her chest as the time dragged by.

"I feel nauseous again." You said as you lifted your head.

Just then, your phone rang as the timer you set went off.

"Do you want to check together?"

You nodded and got up from the bed before going into the bathroom together.

"We'll keep trying if it's negative, okay? Everything's going to be okay." Sabrina comforted you as you reached out to grab the test with shaky hands.

As you picked it up, you saw a glimpse of the result and a gasp left your lips.

"Oh, my god..."

Sabrina looked at you with big eyes before you gazed at her, your lips pulling into a big smile and teary eyes.

"It's positive!"

She gasped just as loudly as you had and you showed her the positive pregnancy test.

"It is positive!" She exclaimed. "It's positive! We're having a baby!"

You threw your arms around her and squeezed her tightly as you both relished in the moment.

It had finally worked.

You were having a baby.

"This is so amazing! I can't believe it finally happened." She said as she pulled away from you.

"It feels so surreal. I feel like I'm dreaming."

"But you're not, darling. You're pregnant."

She gently put her hand over your stomach and you shared a quick tearful but loving kiss as it hit you that you were having a baby.

"I love you."

"I love you too, Sab,"

"I was talking to the baby." She said and laughed as you playfully hit her arm. "I'm kidding... sorta. I love you very much, Y/N, and I love our baby too."

"I love you both so much." You said before gazing at her hand on your stomach, watching as her fingers brushed across your skin.

"Hello in there. I know you're probably too little to hear me but I don't care. I'm going to talk to you every single day! I love you."

You put your hand over hers as your heart raced.

"It's your moms." You said. "We love you so much already and can't wait to meet you soon."

You looked into her eyes and saw how bright they were.

This is the most excited you've both been in so long and you couldn't wait to embark on this journey together at last.
