Second Person P.O.V

Walking across the desolate beach, you exhaled softly, enjoying the gentle atmosphere. The ocean caressed the shore and the sun was setting, displaying a delicious orange hue. As your eyes followed the movements of the waves, you noticed a certain spot where bubbles were forming. Eyebrows furrowing in confusion yet curiosity, you stepped closer to the waters, letting the cold water splash against your legs. You paused for a second, noticing a figure underwater that looked nothing like any sea creature you've seen.

It finally dawned on you it was a human drowning. You quickly scrambled and dived into the water, desperately trying to free the chain from the poor man's neck. After a minute of fiddling and fumbling, you finally got the chain off his neck. You were getting lightheaded and quickly brought him back to the surface, coughing and wheezing for air as you laid him on the shore.

"Hey, hey. Wake up! How'd you even get chained down there?" You panted as you shook his body desperately for some type of response. Just as you were about to give up, the man coughed and rolled over to his side, eyes opening groggily.

"You're alive!!" You cheered as you clasped your hands together in relief. He just looked at you blankly, blinking silently as he recollected his thoughts. You frowned.

"Hello? I literally saved you from drowning?? How'd you even get in that situation man." You grumbled as the man made no effort to respond.

"Can you speak? I'm asking yo-"

"Why did you save me?" He said monotonously, his voice sending shivers down your spine as you looked back at his empty eyes with slight fear.

"Because you were drowning..?" You squeaked out softly.

"I'm a monster. I don't deserve saving." He scoffed as he stood up, brushing his wet hair back as you raised an eyebrow.

"A monster? How?" You mumbled in confusion.

"I don't understand what you're on about.. but you were drowning and I saved you. Don't I deserve a thanks?" You raised your chin and crossed your arms.

He looked at you with a deadpanned expression before turning around and walking away, to which you chased after him.

"Hey! You can't just ignore me! Why are you so rude!" You whined as you followed after him.

"Leave me alone. I could hurt you." He said lowly, eyes piercing through yours as he stopped abruptly— causing you to run right into his back.

"Ack! You could hurt me??" You mumbled in confusion as you rubbed your nose.

"At least get some dry clothes on! You're gonna catch a cold you weirdo." You sighed as you tugged on his arm, attempting to drag him off but of course he didn't budge.

"Why do you insist on helping me?" He muttered as he shook his head, letting you drag him off in the direction you wanted.

The small victory caused you to perk up, grinning as you lead him away.

"Well I recently moved here to Cheonliang mountain! The people here seem really nice so I wanna be nice like them too." You hummed as you walked. Suddenly, he stopped and you were jerked backwards from his abrupt stop.

"Hey!" Your eyes narrowed as you looked back at him with a huff.

"You need to leave." He said more serious, causing your anger to dissipate.
