Sara DiLaurentis was the older sister of Alison and twin sister of Jason. Being Jason's twin, Sara was known as the happiest one in the family. Always smiling, always laughing. She was their joy. Alison always felt jealous of Sara so she decided to be better than her older sister. Soon, Alison was the favorite out of the siblings to their parents. Jason went on to get high every day and Sara threw herself into reading books. She would go to the library everyday after school or work, staying for hours.
Ryan Montgomery thought his family was perfect. That his family would never break apart. Then his sister Aria started to spend time with Alison DiLaurentis, becoming a different person under the blonde's manipulation and their dad started to spend more late nights at the office. When Alison disappears, their dad suggests that they move to Iceland to help Aria grieve and to hide his own secrets.
Sara comes back to town a year after her sister's disappearance looking for answers. Ryan returned from Iceland with his family, wanting his own answers to why his family was falling apart before the move and if moving back was the right idea. When Sara starts getting A texts of her own telling her to put those mystery books to use and to find who A is, she realizes its a game to figure out whose tormenting her missing sister's friends. But she figures out not all secrets stay hidden even when you want them to.
