Taehyung drove quietly, glancing at Jungkook who was staring out the window, his hand still intertwined with his. The silence between them was heavy, filled with unspoken words. Suddenly, Taehyung's phone rang. He parked on the side of the road, seeing that it was Jimin.
"He's with you, right? Safe?" Jimin's voice was reassuring.
"Yeah," Taehyung replied softly, his eyes flicking to Jungkook.
Jimin gave him the address to Jungkook's mansion and told him no one would be home. "I've already informed Jungkook's father. He'll be here later. Don't worry about school, I'll handle it. Just take care of him. I'll come directly after everything is sorted."
Taehyung ended the call, looking at Jungkook, whose eyes were closed, still trembling. He wiped away a tear from Jungkook's cheek and kissed him softly on the cheek. "I've got you," he whispered, starting the car again, heading towards Jungkook's mansion.
Taehyung carefully lifted Jungkook into his arms, his hand gently securing around Jungkook's thighs while the other wrapped protectively around his waist. He could feel the warmth of Jungkook's body pressed against his chest, the soft breath against his neck as Jungkook nestled closer, his face hidden in the crook of Taehyung's neck. The silence between them felt heavy, but it was comforting, filled with a quiet understanding. As Taehyung walked towards the mansion's entrance, he made sure to close the car door with his foot, never once letting go of Jungkook. He moved with deliberate steps, the sound of their footsteps echoing softly in the night air. The weight of Jungkook in his arms was a reminder of the fragile state his friend was in, and Taehyung's heart clenched at the thought.
Once inside the mansion, Taehyung carried him effortlessly up the stairs, the hallway stretching out before them. The soft glow of the house lights bathed them in a warm hue, casting shadows that seemed to make the world outside feel far away. Each step felt like it took them further from the turmoil, closer to a place where Jungkook could finally rest, safe.
The journey up the stairs was quiet, but Taehyung could feel Jungkook's grip tighten ever so slightly around his neck, as though he found comfort in the closeness. When they reached the top, Taehyung paused for a moment, gazing down at Jungkook's peaceful face, his features softened in sleep.
Without a word, Taehyung continued to his room, the world around them fading as he focused only on the warmth in his arms, the person who needed him the most.
As he laid Jungkook gently on the bed, Taehyung's hand lingered for a moment on his cheek, brushing away a stray lock of hair. He stood there, watching over him, the weight of the day finally starting to settle in.
Everything else could wait. Right now, it was just them-quiet, safe, and together.
Jungkook opened his eyes looking at Taehyung, he lifted his arm stretching his hand pulling Taehyung.
