The garden was serene, bathed in the golden hues of the afternoon sun. Taehyung sat on a bench beneath a blooming cherry tree, a soft breeze playing with the loose strands of his hair. A book rested in his delicate hands, its pages fluttering slightly as he immersed himself in the story. The tranquility of the moment wrapped around him like a cocoon, a welcome escape from the tense atmosphere of the mansion.

Heejin had left moments earlier, saying she needed to grab something from inside, leaving Taehyung alone. He didn’t mind, the solitude was comforting. But it was short-lived.

The sharp sound of heels clicking against the stone path shattered the peace. Taehyung looked up to see Aisha approaching, her presence as unwelcome as it was uninvited. Her perfectly manicured fingers toyed with her phone as she strode toward him, her expression already curling into a sneer.

“Oh, look at you,” she drawled, her voice dripping with condescension. “Sitting here like you belong, reading your little book like some perfect prince. Do you even understand half of what you’re reading?”

Taehyung’s grip on the book tightened slightly, but he didn’t respond. His gaze fell back to the words on the page, choosing to ignore her. His silence only seemed to irritate her further.

Aisha scoffed, crossing her arms. “You think you’re special, don’t you? Just because Jungkook coddles you like some fragile doll. It’s pathetic, really. You’re nothing but a burden to him.”

Taehyung remained silent, his eyes fixed on the book, but his hands trembled ever so slightly. He wasn’t as fragile as she thought, but he had no intention of engaging with her. He’d learned long ago that silence was often the best defense against venomous words.

However, Aisha wasn’t finished. Her sharp gaze zeroed in on the delicate necklace resting against Taehyung’s chest. It was a simple yet elegant chain with a pendant identical to the one Jungkook wore, a symbol of their bond, of the unspoken promise between them, that's what everyone thought.

Her eyes narrowed. “Where did you get that?” she demanded, her voice laced with jealousy. “That’s Jungkook’s, isn’t it? Why would he give you something so valuable?”
