This System Window was a personalized tool, granting each individual a unique set of attributes, skills, and potential. It categorized their abilities into Stats—Strength, Agility, Intelligence, and more—and introduced Classes, ranging from warriors and mages to rogues and healers.

Even more astonishing was the revelation of Skills—magical and physical capabilities that defied the laws of reality. Some individuals gained the ability to summon fire from thin air, others could heal mortal wounds with a touch, and some even manipulated the very elements of time and space.

The System was both a gift and a curse. Those blessed with exceptional abilities rose as humanity's protectors, while those with lesser talents were forced into the shadows, struggling to survive in a world where strength dictated value.

The Era of Heroes

The emergence of the System heralded the Era of Heroes, a golden age of warriors and adventurers who stood against the monstrous tides spilling from the Gates. Among these, the greatest were known as the Legendary Heroes, their names immortalized in myth and song.

There was Ardan the Flame Sovereign, whose mastery over fire incinerated entire legions of monsters. His fiery blade, Everburn, was said to glow like a second sun.

Kaelith the Shadowfang was a rogue whose speed and precision rendered her an enigma on the battlefield. It was whispered that her daggers could pierce even the void itself.

Elowyn the Verdant Sage, a healer, wielded the power of nature to restore life to the dying and protect entire cities with her enchanted forests.

Then there was Drakos the Titan, a giant among men who bore the strength to shatter mountains. His unyielding shield, Aegir's Bastion, was a symbol of hope, standing firm against the mightiest of foes.

And finally, Elyndor the Chronomancer, the most enigmatic of all. He wielded time as both sword and shield, rewriting the flow of reality to humanity's favor.

The Final War

For years, these Heroes and countless others waged war against the Gateborn creatures. They ventured deep into the Gates themselves, exploring their labyrinthine dungeons and facing monsters that grew ever more dangerous. These expeditions unearthed Artifacts, relics of unimaginable power that amplified the Heroes' abilities.

Yet, the true threat lay not in the Gates themselves, but in the emergence of the Overlords—intelligent, godlike entities who ruled over the monstrous hordes. These Overlords sought to conquer Earth and enslave humanity, their motivations shrouded in mystery.

The final battle, known as the War of Eternity, took place within the heart of the largest Gate ever recorded. It was a fight that spanned weeks, a clash of titans that reshaped the very fabric of the world. Though humanity emerged victorious, the cost was immeasurable. The Legendary Heroes, along with the Overlords, vanished without a trace, leaving behind only their legacies.

In the aftermath of the War of Eternity, the Gates began to stabilize, their appearances growing sporadic and less destructive. Humanity, though scarred, adapted to this new reality. Guilds were formed to train hunters, adventurers who would protect the world from future Gate incursions. Cities flourished around Guild strongholds, and economies thrived on the trade of magical materials harvested from Gates.

The System, now an intrinsic part of life, became a measure of worth. People sought to increase their Stats and Skills, chasing fame, fortune, and power. Yet, the peace that followed was fragile, for the Gates still lingered, and whispers of darker forces persisted.
