"—so when are you back?" Her voice is muffled slightly by the distance between us. Good—she hasn't noticed me yet. But who is she talking to, anyway? And why is she up so late?
She adjusts her phone, holding it closer to her ear as her expression shifts from focused to that soft smile. God help me, she looks like a goddess, especially in this light. I swear, if I knew she wouldn't push me away, I'd have already—
"Okay... (muffled) I'll see you then. Love you."
Fuck.
You don't just say "love you" to someone unless they mean something to you, unless they're close—really close. The words hit me like a punch to the gut, and I feel jealousy burning through me, I can't be jealous, I'm over her- I remind myself.
She hangs up and our gazes meet, I smirk putting on my cocky facade, she narrows her eyes at me "well well well, fancy meeting you princess, what it's second time for today?" I tilt my head to the side slightly to take a good look on her, I don't bother hiding it.
"Don't tell me you have a room on this very floor"
oh so we are neighbors, how convenient, my smirk never leaves my face, if anything it only got bigger
I step closer to her, she might be tall, but our height difference shows and I still tower over her, casting a shadow, I smirk down at her "looks like the fate wants us together"
She crosses her arms and looks up at me, she looks so edible from this view, her gaze sharpens—"it doesn't, if anything it has a special sense of humor"
"Who were you talking to?" I keep my cool, but there's anger and jealousy inside of me that clouds my any logical thought
"It shouldn't bother you" she narrows her eyes at me
"Oh it does, 100%" my gaze narrows at her, I lean closer and put one hand on the wall beside her head, half trapping her "everything bothers me when it comes to you"
"Stop acting like a jerk"
"Stop acting like a brat"
