The grand doors to the meeting hall in the basement loomed before him. With a deep breath, Jungkook pushed them open, revealing a room buzzing with tension.
Heejin was the first to notice him, her sharp eyes narrowing slightly as she crossed her arms. “Took your time, didn’t you?” she said, her tone laced with annoyance, though there was a glimmer of amusement hidden in her gaze.
Hoseok leaned back in his chair with a smirk, clearly picking up on Heejin’s implication. “Someone seems... refreshed,” he quipped, earning a soft chuckle from Yoongi, who stood nearby with his usual calm composure.
Jungkook shot Hoseok a glare, though the faintest hint of a smirk tugged at the corner of his lips. “Focus hyung,” he said curtly, his voice commanding enough to silence any further teasing.
The rest of the room remained serious, their expressions mirroring the gravity of the task ahead. Namjoon, Seokjin, and Yoongi stood near the center of the room, reviewing a map spread out on the table. Jimin was off to the side, checking his weapons with a somber expression. Despite his usual playful demeanor, the weight of 'staying at home' was evident in the tension in his shoulders.
“Everyone ready?” Jungkook’s voice cut through the room, sharp and direct.
The team nodded in unison, their attention snapping to their leader. Jungkook stepped forward, his presence commanding as he addressed them.
“This is our final briefing,” he began, his gaze sweeping over each person in the room. “We’ve received intel that the shipment will arrive at Dock 12 at precisely 2 a.m. Even though we were going to attack them on the road, that's too risky, I don't want police to get involved in this. And The rival gang has increased their security after our last encounter, so expect heavy resistance. Our objective is to intercept the shipment and ensure it doesn’t leave the dock.”
He pointed to the map on the table, his finger tracing the outlined routes. “Ray, Namjoon, you’ll lead the assault team and create a diversion here,” he said, indicating a section of the docks. “Draw their attention away from the main shipment while Hoseok and I handle the extraction.”
He paused, his gaze shifting to Jimin. “Jimin, you’re staying here. Your sole responsibility is to protect Taehyung and the mansion.”
Jimin frowned, clearly displeased. “You don’t need to keep reminding me”, he muttered, crossing his arms.
Jungkook’s eyes narrowed. “I mean it, Jimin. This isn’t just about the mansion, it’s about him. I trust you to keep him safe.”
Jimin sighed, running a hand through his hair. “Fine, fine. But you owe me for keeping me out of the action.”
“Your debt is keeping Taehyung safe,” Jungkook replied, his tone firm but not unkind. “If anything happens to him while we’re gone...” He trailed off, the unspoken threat lingering in the air.
Jimin nodded, his expression softening slightly. “Nothing will happen to him. You have my word.”
Satisfied, Jungkook returned his attention to the rest of the group. “Yoongi, you’ll handle the tech and surveillance. Make sure we have eyes on every angle of the docks.”
Yoongi nodded, his calm demeanor unwavering. “Already on it.”
"Jin , you should be ready with the medical team incase something happens.", Jungkook said getting a nod and a subtle eye roll from the said person.
Jungkook’s gaze lingered on each of them, his eyes hard with determination. “This mission is critical. We can’t afford any mistakes. Follow the plan, watch each other’s backs, and get the job done.”
