𖤍 04. STARTINGS

7:00 a.m,

Birds chirped outside Jungwon's window in sync, a beautiful harmony and rhythm, waking up the tired vampire. Already forgetting, a sudden realization hit him in a second. Today was his first day back at school as a Junior, wow, already a Junior he just needed one more year. One more year, and this hell called "school" will finally be over.

While walking to school Jungwon thought, since he would soon be done with school, what should he do then? As a "grown adult" he'd have more responsibilities, more expectations, not to mention...work-

"Ack!" Jungwon spat out, feeling his feet come to a sudden halt and trip, his back slamming down the hard floor making him let out a groan.
"Sorry." Was all the person said, before walking away from Jungwon.

Poor him, the injured vampire couldn't even make out the person's face, he had slightly hit his head which caused his eyesight to go a bit blurry. Before he could catch what had happened the person was out of his sight. Jungwon held onto the side of his head, a grumble escaping his lips.

"What a nice person," he worded out, obvious sarcasm. Jungwon got up then, dusting off his clothes, "couldn't even lend a helping hand."
Hopefully this "incident" doesn't happen once he enters school. Or that would be humiliating.

Crosslight High School, Ghost Town's most known school, of course. Jungwon swallowed hard, feeling his fingers clasp around his backpack's straps.

"You can do this, if the first day goes well, the whole year will too. You're a vampire for gosh sake, these mortals are nothing compared to you.." Jungwon mumbled to himself, already knowing if he messed up even the slightest his whole world would come crashing down.

Stepping inside the main doors he was greeted by students, most walking around with friends like they've been here already once again, some going to classes, or some already in class. It's as if they've never left this school, as if summer didn't happen, unlike for him, it felt like he was back in square one, freshman year, a new student.

Shutting his eyes for 3 seconds he tried calming himself down. Keeping his eyes on the school floor as he repeated the same words over and over again as he walked around the halls.

"You can do this, if the first day goes well, the whole year will too. You're a vampire for gosh sake, these humans are nothing compared to you. Slam, Jungwon fell face first on the floor. Not noticing before it someone was coming his way, going to his side as their left leg still managed to trip Jungwon. Everyone went silent, all eyes were on him...

Laughter, laughing was heard. They were laughing at him.

Jungwon didn't dare get up, keeping his face hidden from the crowd as they circled around him, hearing 'clicks' and flash from people's phones on him. Not again, Jungwon didn't want this to be happening, not right now, not like freshman year. Everything was repeating, just as he thought he could finally be at peace.

He was done for, humiliation filled his mind once again, experiencing "deja vu" Jungwon wished this wasn't real.

Why, why again, why now, why him. Always him.

8:45 pm,

School was horrible, the afternoon was horrible, his life was horrible. Not wanting to remember his humiliation the universe wanted to make him feel worse. Scrolling through his phone he continued sobbing, as he huddled himself with his knees, pictures and videos of him filling up his Instagram home page.

Already titled as "The Embarrassing Junior At Crosslight High School". His whole world came crashing down as expected. Jungwon felt his already red puffed up eyes suffering, his head aching from crying too much, he felt weak.

But all he could do was cry, cry alone, cry to himself. In his house, in his room, alone, hugging himself. Fighting against his struggles and hope. But what hope did he have left? When his first day was even worse than 2 years ago?
