Love Story

Prologue

After the battle of Armageddon. I was sent to the Sky Temple to meet with the God of Thunder and protector of Earthrealm, Raiden. Being accompanied by Johnny Cage and Sonya Blade, who have recruited me to become a kombatant. I wasn't sure what they saw in me, but I was happy to be capable of something. I was a little nervous to meet Lord Raiden for which it will be my first time meeting a god. As we walked up the mountains to the Sky Temple, Johnny noticed my nervousness.

"There's no need to be nervous to meet this god, Novella, he's not as great as much as you think he is"

Johnny grinned and patted my back.

"You sure? I mean I do have more respect for people than you, Mr. Cage" I smiled as Sonya did the same in agreement.

"She's right about that"

"*scoffs* Whatever"

Just reaching the Sky Temple, we were greeted by monks and escorted to Raiden, soon to meet him at one of the balconies. There Raiden was in meditation stance, he turns his head and motions us to come closer.

"What brings you to my Temple?" asked the God of Thunder.

"We believe we got a new kombatant for the tournament" said Johnny as he crosses his arms. Sonya steps up and places her hand on my shoulder.

"Do you think she's capable to participate?"

Raiden looks at me and analyzing me carefully. I stood still and bit my lip.

Oh geez, this is unsettling. What if he thinks I'm not good enough to fight? This sucks.

"What is your name young one?"

"U-um N-Novella, Lord Raiden"

Crap! I stuttered!

"That's quite a beautiful name"

"T-thank you."

Raiden stayed quiet after and thought for a moment. I blinked a few times. Noticing his soothing blue eyes. I was awestruck by it's beauty.

"I believe she could be a very supportive ally" said Raiden as he looks at my eyes.

"So what does that mean?" Johnny asked, raising a brow.

"She's not capable to participate in the tournaments. Send her to the clan of the Lin Kuei, I believe training there is suitable for her."

"The Lin Kuei? You sure they'll accept her?" asked Sonya.

"That is for them to decide." Raiden looks at me one more time and returns to his meditating.

"Come ladies, time to go see Snowflake"

"Snowflake?" I asked as I tilt my head.

"Wish you could stop calling him that. *looks at me* He's talking about "Sub-Zero" He's part of the Lin Kuei"

"He sounds cool"

"Was that pun intended?"

'What? Oh *laughs* I didn't realize that~"

After a few jokes here and there we reached the Lin Kuei. Two masked men approached us. One blue and the other Grey.

"State your business" said the blue masked man.

"We got you a new recruit for your clan"

Johnny stepped aside and gently pushes me forward for the two men to see. I shyly looked at the two and waved.

"H-hi"

"Hmph You really think she's capable to train with the Lin Kuei?"

"Raiden says she is, what you do you think Snowflake?"
